Nice concept, but yeah, sound gets annoying after a while. Thanks for the mute button ;). Also, I suddenly went game-over, but the balls hadn't reached the goal by far? Overall, a too slow-paced game.
Pressing shift to continue after a loading screen is counter-intuitive - provide a clickable button or use space or enter, or better, just move on to the main menu.
As for the game, it's decent, but felt a little bit slow at times. Reloading could've been done automatically when you fire and your clip is empty. And yeah, it gets repetetive. Still, quite a nice looking game. There's just too many rough edges for my taste, but given some more polishing I can see this becoming quite fun to play.
Nice concept, but the game could use some work. The movement is bad indeed. Some glass tiles looked too similar to grey wall tiles, you might want to make those more distinct. As for getting stuck, planning ahead is difficult when you can't see the rest of the level. But, there's some good potential in here, I'd like to see you work this out better in a next installment. :)
I've updated the game now, the default speed is higher, if it's too fast or slow you can change it in the options menu. I'll tweak the visuals of that menu some more but for now, you can already change the speed. Have fun. :)
Thank for the comments guys. If you've got idea's to make it better, feel free to comment. :)
@digitrev: is it too fast or too slow for your taste? Anyway, good suggestion, I might throw in a speed modifier in a second version, so everyone can play at their own pace (but slower speeds will give less points of course).
Too slow for me, both gameplay and performance-wise. I also found it too hard to be really enjoyable, I felt very limited due to the slow energy recharge rate and the small room for error.
Nice graphics and all, and the core concept sounds good, but this implementation just doesn't do it justice.
Not a really a super TD game imho. There's no way to see what enemy type you're dealing with, and sometimes my magic towers stopped shooting, seemingly because their active target got out of range but wasn't killed yet. It's also annoying to see shots disappear because their target just died - it makes you loose splash damage, for example. It's also not so fun to see a new wave starting while there's still monsters of an older wave coming - a little time between them would be nice. And the effect of upgrades isn't shown.
All in all, the game lacks polishment in various area's. But I think it's a decent start nonetheless.
Nice idea, but so-so implementation. There's no connection between the numbers and the colors, so I found myself continually looking at the top-left corner rather than my triangle. There was no visual sign of which vertex was sticky, too. 3/5 for the idea.
I think it's an ok game. Nice work with the rhytm and the different opponent types. Alas, the game isn't quite lag-free - it ran really bad after a while.
I like the whole idea, pretty good. But yeah, bad controls. The pathfinding isn't always optimal, too... why not just implement arrow key movement?
Also, the monster and hunter seem to move randomly, which is sometimes quite frustrating because you'll be waiting for a long time untill that hunter finally moves into your finely prepared trap. Perhaps some ways to distract the hunter, and/or some patterns in their movement would be good.
It's ok, but lacks a lot of polish. The game was half French, half English, the GUI could use some work and in it's current shape, there isn't much depth to the game - after playing it once, you've basically explored everything there is to it.
I'm sure you can improve on this though. Good luck!
I liked both games actually, white more than black actually.
One thing though: since you're almost always shooting, why not toggle the shooting instead of having to hold the mouse button down? :)
Fun game. The tower of Hanoi concept is used nicely here. :)
As some others said, it could use some new elements after a while - perhaps an additional ring size rather than just speeding up the timer - but the game is fun as it is already.
