Without auto-save, this is annoying. I have crashed randomly for the third time now! Play for about 20-40 minutes, then browser just closes. I try to get in the habit of visiting town and manually saving, but some of those quests require a LOT of grinding to get the objects you need, so you tend to forget to return to town and save. As a result you end up regrinding experience and/or quest items unnecessarily.
Boss and Hard badge are both not as hard as I thought: use the tip found above. STRAFE (hold mouse button to keep same firing direction) along the left or right edge while firing to the center of the screen. Use the double-click BERSERK to clear those pesky guys when they manage to mob you. Hard took about 8-10 minutes. Not sure about the "avoid coins" advice - I still went for the 1K and 2000 markers when I saw them. Like the guy above, I too clicked off the screen several times, almost dying but managing to recover full life after getting my mouse back inside the game.
ZOMG - Stupid cat got stuck on level 23, on the two purple stick things above the H in the Hotdog sign. (Bug report submitted). 10 minutes later, still stuck. Apparently Sewage Cat only diets to a certain size if he gets stuck. Bug report submitted. Game downrated, soz.
Rated 1 out of 5 - Severely bugged. Got to 4th puzzle, when all of a sudden instead of sliding, the pieces shake back and forth too quickly to see. When this happens, the pieces become embedded inside each other and the puzzle cannot be solved properly.
Any chance of fixing the Lag problem? I'd really like to re-visit the game and rate it higher than 1 star. As I stated earlier, the lag is probably caused by improperly disposing of objects. (Based on watching memory consumption climb steadily when new monsters spawn) The game itself looked promising up to the multi-wave Boss fight in the Thieve's Cave (forgot the name of the island) - then the lag problem made it impossible to complete the fight for me. I am tempted to try Firefox just to play the game, but honestly why should I when thousand of other complex Flash RPGs pose no problem for my current browser. (I shouldn't need to switch browsers just because an author can't write tight code - meaning no memory leaks)
Decent game, with nice graphics, acceptable lag, and a little bit of fun. But I have to downrate it for the slow exp rate (even when you are good), and the stupid pay-for-features model. For the amount of money to buy Kreds, I can pick up a copy of Unreal Tournament, which is 3D, has tons of mods, and online play. Sorry, but the fun factor in this game is just not high enough to pay for features. Hosted on Kongregate (where I played it) are too many other fun multi-player games that don't charge.
Lessons for developers: not every game can use the pay-for-features model successfully. Look at your competition - you have to carve out your niche and do something better than the other games. You also need the fun factor, and periodic content changes or challenge updates to keep people coming back these days.
It is hard to believe this is an ArmorGames release - with the stuck-elevator-end-of-game bug. Like others have said, it is fun right up to the point that your elevators freeze and everyone can't get to work.
LOL - I ran into a fence and stopped on a horizontal slope. Without moving I was able to do front and back flips forever. Finally managed to land at just the right angle to start sliding - BACKWARDS. slid backwards into the mountain and fell to the end. Exactly what did you mean by "physics based"? ROFL
An exercise in frustration. Everything seems too small, and the control response is "off" compared to most other side scrollers - it's almost like there are variable delays before the movement kicks in. This makes it very hard to time your jumps in the later maps. I gave up trying because it just wasn't fun.
For those struggling where to put the Upgrade Skill points: 5 to Cash Collect first; next 5 to Skill (the XP per enemy one, not the icon that says XP). Continue putting 5 into one skill at a time. (You get faster cash bonuses from the 5th skill point that way) I usually save Poison for wave 46-50. - - - The video link that JohnnyHaywire posted gives a good idea of how & when to place towers; altho somewhere after level 25 you will want to try and squeak up to $4000 gold and place a Golden tower - the extra cash allows you to upgrade your towers quicker. It helps if you get a few Achievement bonuses during a wave - a great time to plop down a gold tower
19.3 million feet. 825mph top speed. 83 booster, 54 of those used after Mars. Did not see Jupiter but did go from a blur to invisible, which sucked because then I couldn't get coins, X, or booster :(
In addition to the hassle just mentioned, I agree with the other people posting about your stupid dual-crosshairs. And it sure would be nice if those badges gave you SOMETHING, like 1 extra point, extra speed, etc. And how is it that the XP reward for the Halloween quest is only 50 points? I mean you have to kill 100 zombies, and that in itself gives you what, 200XP? (nenevr botherd checking how much each zombie gives). If you bother to do the quest you will earn far more from just the regular drops.
How is it possible to build up so much lag that you need to close/reopen browser windows? (I see this in a lot of badly written games, and these days it is more obvious if you are running the latest "sandbox" version of flash). Also, my arrow keys kept getting stuck and I had to keep doing quick up/down/left/right taps to unstick em. Honestly, I would rather stand there and hold down the space bar than run in circular squares all day. Until you get the gold for an automatic weapon, your poor mouse button gets the crap beat out of it. 1/5 for the promising looks but delivering too much aggravation instead.
