I'm not even sure how people are getting 34 to not balance. I've tried 2-3 different ways, and all mine balance before 880 on the clock. So there are alot of different ways you people aren't even trying. Please try them, and then stop complaining.
It seems like the majority of you are complaining that its too hard. (?!?!?) I only gave it 3 stars rather than 4, because it's too easy. Seriously, this is the easiest hard badge I've ever earned. All this complaining is making me think I should go ahead and give that 4th star.
Well, you are making progress but its still a rather dull game. And, there isn't much challenge. Keep working on your skills and I'm sure you'll get stars, but for now: 1/5
Nagster: Often when you can't find a solution it is because you need the stack to be unbalanced, and to quickly catch the falling stack by placing another block in the gap.
My best time on Harmony 34 is 946, and that's with just 6 attempts. Think out of the box people. There are several valid solutions, none of which involve long periods of shakiness.
I'm sick and tired of the complaints about level 34. If you can't get perfect balance before the clock hits 880, YOUR SOLUTION TO THE PUZZLE IS WRONG AND THE PROBLEM IS YOU, NOT THE PUZZLE. Sheesh.
It would be nice to have an impossible badge for a score over 72000. Then again, the 'hard' badge isn't - its probably the easiest hard badge I've yet found.
Hardly a day goes by where I don't see several people trumpeting there impossible badge. Be honest. Most of you turned down the spawn rate and then used a few cheats.
The basic movements I've found useful are little spinning stroke that moves your man ever so slightly out of the line of movement and thens spins you fully around to line up on the target, and a slightly larger circling motion that keeps you behind oozles and spines. Also, I find it useful to agressively attack the melties so as to control where and when they splat. If you try to ignore them, they may burst against a greenie and get you or may accidently whack them at an angle and splat yourself. So with a melty, it's attack-swing-stop!, probably followed with a quick assessment of the angle you need to stay out of the acid. The same is true to a lesser extent of stickies.
Regarding complaints that its too hard. 1) Don't worry about the weapons until you are good enough with the sword to beat the small nest without them. 2) Read the tips. 3) When you encounter a new creature, spend a few minutes in practice mode learning how to kill it efficiently. Make sure you are good in practice before you have to face it in the chaos of having 6 different types of blobs on the screen at the same time. 4) My average score improves by about 4 pts a game without weapons. If you then use the reactive armor and the hazard suit, you can about double your average.
Awesome game. Excellent design, pacing, and skill level. Shows how much you can do with pure gameplay and not alot of graphics. Extremely good use of humor. My only complaint is that not enough was done with the 'glomming' mechanic. I would have liked to see more hybrid creatures and more often.
Right now, I'm finding the Clutter to be the most dangerous gloople. I'm finding I can handle just about any other gloople in the game, but anything dangerous plus a wave of Clutters is very very difficult. It's hard to both dodge Clutter shots and something hard to kill at the same time.
Occasionally, a falling ball will pass right through the 'v' shaped pocket I've created to catch it. Doesn't seem like it really goes anywhere. I think I've seen everything you possibly need to do to move the ball, and after that its just a matter of repeating the same things in more and more complicated patterns.
Much harder than the first one, but other than more replay value because of that, doesn't seem a big improvement to me. Many of the extras offer little new gameplay. Selecting where to search isn't really interesting. The traps aren't that interesting, and the different locations are more annoying than anything. Slightly less interesting than the original, IMO.
Frequently distasteful, if occassionally creative enough to warrant a snicker. Not enough variation in the modes of homocide. But most importantly, the game lacks any real game play. Only one of the methods required more than a single mouse click. There is no puzzle. Really, there is no game. It's a series of animated sketches. That's it. I'm not even sure it belongs here.
