Like most games that Gregory Weir is involved with, this is an incredible, emotionally involving game. The sense of loneliness and being haunted permeates every aspect, and the hope mechanism is innovative and highly thought-provoking. It's long, a bit difficult to figure out, and I got frustrated going around in circles without a map, at first. After thinking about it, though, it struck me that the lack of a map only adds to the game, putting in an aspect of confusion and increasing weariness that even further puts the player in the character's shoes. Additionally, this is truly creepy without being frightening, just a sense of dread that really shows when the character loses hope and starts seeing...things. I will definitely be playing to achieve all five endings. All in all, a very worthy addition to the "pixel art" genre. Well done!
This game was evil, but lots of fun! I wasn't quite on board with the "cute animals" thing, because it somehow didn't seem to mix well with the mind-freak mechanic. Nevertheless though, it was highly enjoyable. Collecting the coins towards skipping levels was a fun touch, too, though with the never-ending lives, I only used it once, when I got stuck on the rotated level, by backtracking after it had turned back to normal.
Suggestions: if you do a sequel, some achievements would be a nice addition (perhaps some tied in to the coin-collecting), and perhaps a "madness" mode where you have limited lives. Overall, a highly enjoyable little "coffee break" game.
Pretty stylish! Not a bad game, pretty insane at the end where you're playing all three mini-games at the same time. It'd be nice if the score was displayed during the game, but otherwise, well-done. LOVE the art!
Wow, I was impressed. This was actually a pretty well-made game. It's difficult, but I can see that's it's MADE to be hard, which isn't a bad thing. I like the idea of checkpoints too, but if "rage-quit-hard" games like MoneySeize are any indication, then they're not strictly necessary. My only suggestion would be a suitably moody soundtrack to add to the experience. Nicely done!
This is a intriguing and clever game. I thought the game mechanics were fine, if a bit of a guessing game, but that's okay. If you could add messages telling the player if he passed or failed each level, and maybe a soundtrack, that would be very cool. I'm not crazy about the names of the runes (?) as the sound effect for choosing the correct one, but that's just my opinion. :) It's very promising!
Nice game! Very original gameplay, stylish environment, and very tight controls (especially the collision detection--very nice!). It wasn't rage-quit inducing in terms of difficulty, but it was a good challenge, and quite enjoyable. Well done.
Now THIS is what a first game should look like! This is an insanely cute, smooth, and straightforward little diversion that is a pleasure to play--and look Ma, no bugs! If I may offer a critique, this game was very, very easy to play. I finally killed myself by crashing a lot of times after racking up 13850 points. An increasing difficulty or different powerups would make this game more challenging. Achievements might not be a bad idea either. Just some thoughts for your next game, especially if it's Minnow Blasters 2. All in all though, you did very, very well. I look forward to seeing more from you and your kids!
A simple, slick retro game that really does play, look, and sound like an old 80s computer game! Very well done! This would make a great mobile game, too.
Short and sweet! A very cute game that reminds me of Little Wheel in the gameplay and snazzy soundtrack. Love the stylization and color scheme. Well done!
Besides the lack of plotline, this actually is not one of the worst Playcrafter games I've played. It's actually not too bad for a bit of mindless entertainment.
While gameplay is just a collection of simple (perhaps even simplistic) minigames, this game has very lovely visuals and a sweet, cheerful tone to it. I agree with the others that this would make a good children's or DS game. As it was, it made me smile.
This is not parody. It does not poke fun at the original, which is what a parody is supposed to do. It just takes some game graphics and a catchy/annoying soundtrack, and uses them to make an atrocious wreck of a game.
This would be fun as a board game, if a little simple. However, as a flash game, it's very unfinished. You could desperately use a soundtrack, sound effects, and far more automation, such as automatically moving the pieces to the appropriate spaces, or being able to pick the answer on the trivia cards, and have the card tell you if it's right or wrong. I agree with machopi that this feels very unfinished.
This is a very cute, very entertaining game. While not mind-bending or rage-quit-inducing, it's quite fun. I didn't encounter any bugs when I played, and I enjoyed the hand-drawn look and the bright, relaxing music. If this could be compared to any other game, it would be like Time Kcuf's younger, happier cousin. I especially enjoy the "combine worlds" key. It's very helpful, and later on in the game helps the player really see the enjoyable design. it's clear you all put a lot of work and love into it. Great work!
Funny, spot-on, and well-done. I really enjoyed that he delivered his message and made it fun to hear, by turning his commentary into low-level puzzle-solving and adding real achievements (ridiculous and numerous that they are). Kudos to the developer--the game was pointed without being preachy, and still engaging. Good job. 1/5
A delightful, cute/creepy game. I saw this reviews on JayIsGames, but only just now played it. Very nice work. I hope this gets popular enough to get some badges attached, because this game would be perfect. Usually, I don't replay point-and-clicks like this, but the achievements and alternate endings made a replay worthwhile. Excellent work!
