I really disliked the 10 minute intro cutscene, and I almost left at that point. I'm fortunate I stuck it out because the gameplay really shined from there. Good job.
Having problems - whenever I complete a song the progress isn't saved. No award points are given and my scores are non-existent leaving the song completion screen.
Tips for the impossible: if you sum up the dev's score for all the levels, it totals to 3013. Use this to gauge how much you should get on each level (exception being Chroma Zones light version, I have no idea how the dev managed that). You don't necessarily need to match the score, only come close to it (good estimate: < 10 points). Pick levels that you're good at to get that extra umph, for example I focused on Guardian, Jupiter and Unit Circle light versions to make up for levels in which I couldn't match the dev's score. And a final tip: always keep moving. Most of the struggle comes in for a fight for space, so if you're standing still (say, for a blue laser beam) it will more than likely lead to a worse situation had you been aggressive. Good luck!
The looping waterfall is arguably the worst part of the game because of how much of a difficulty spike it is compared to the rest. The rest of the game is stunning, though.
Ah, I remember playing this game when it first came out in Kong Beta. Now revisiting it 2 years later, it gives a new perspective on me wanting to become an aerospace engineer, haha.
Do it! For humanity! The cosmos are ours for the taking, just begging for conquest! On a related note, I watched "Gurren Lagann" right after writing this -- that series conveys some of the same themes and messages way better than I did, and I can't recommend it enough in the context of feeling motivated to pursue aerospace engineering. For the "Hate Achievements" achievement, just go to the achievements screen and click the "achievements" word until it falls off. For the "Zombie Apocalypse" achievement just go the credits screen and click the three rightmost graves.
For those who need help on the Hard badge - Step 1: Upgrade everything (You don't have to have any groupies, they don't benefit you at all). Step 2: Have the Handstand technique unlocked. Step 3: Start a run, and try to get both of the red bars full on the jump (To get the first one full, press up when you just pass the post, and to get the second one full press up when you are just about to leave the ramp). Step 4: Do a handstand as soon as possible. Continue going through the air at a horizontal path for a couple seconds, and then hold the left arrow, making you do a back flip (Make sure you're still doing your handstand while all of this is happening). Step 5: Finish your back flip, and try to hold your handstand for as long as possible before hitting the ground. Step 6: Land, and just don't do anything else for the run (If you are just shy of reaching 1800 points, then you might want to do a risky quick back flip). Step 7: Enjoy your new 30 point badge!
