No interest in further playing this until tutorial/instructions get clearer... I'm still not sure how money is added/removed from my account, what the goal really is, nor why I should put a tile or gold some place rather than some other. I know this comment will probably be rated down many times over, but reading through the list of comments, I am not the only one. I guess there are many other games around there I'd rather play until this is fixed (knowing that I played a LOT of Nerdook's games and liked them a lot)
I guess love is all a game of luck... Those who are lucky think it's the easiest thing in the world and don't understand why all other people are struggling to even get close to it...
Love it. However, I think it is thoroughly unfair that I connect with that many squares without even being allowed to touch them. What's the point then?
I have to say - I wonder how many people would get the hard badge without the walkthrough. These puzzles are insanely hard. Insanely. And I have been trying... I know that I eventually will give up, and this makes me sad.
This was a very good addition to the game. Less juggling in the original version, makes you think a bit more. I struggled a lot with Basilica - but finally got the perfect glowing dot.
In case you are wondering, start with 3 regular shooters at the top - 3 upgrades on the bottom center one, 2 on the left one, 1 on the right one. Range upgrade on the top one. On the next level, upgrade the left one to 2 upgrades (perfect 32 left)
Upgrade the one on the bottom to the left a bit (still a straight shooter) when you have a chance.
After this, get a slow burst on the central top one on the bottom part, with the one straight below being also a range upgrade. Took me a few tries (aaaah, the targeting...) but this trategy works. I usually keep the one on the left for an area burst later in the game (after the flying creeps pass by) A lot of money comes late, so that works.
Great game. The only worthy improvement I can think of is the frequency of appearance of XL shields (and the stage they are starting to come in) I have been to level 20 several times and I still have to see one of these. As a result, I have all platinum badges but am still missing a lone gold one. That gives me 46 badges and wondering when I ever get the last missing one that gets me to 50...
There should be a posting etiquette on Kongregate. Guys - if you want to get bragging rights about your perforamce, get your name on the high score list. That's why it's here, and then you'll deserve it. All these "(name your score) in (name your time)" comments add absolutely nothing. Praise the developer, make suggestion, say you hate the game, whatever you want... but just stop posting your scores!
Hard badge: jumping is overrated... My strategy (works pretty consistently): jump a few times until you get your multiplier built up to 35-40 (tunnels will help a lot) then draw a constant line going through the gates. At the speed you have reached, gaps won't matter anymore. Just make sure you don't miss any gate, use a tunnel or two again and... voila. Took me a while to figure it out, but that gets me in the 90's pretty consistently. Been over 100 a few times, too.
How to make easy money.
Select Dragon's Lair (#10) - march your level 4 goblins) and retreat everyone else (whoever you have). Go to sleep. Wake up, take a shower, drink a coffee, maybe go for a short run (you should not be in front of your computer all the time) and finish the map (easy to do with the gnome throwing the spikes, just get it outside of the dragon's breath area, you don't need anyone else) and see the riches. Suddenly, all these advance units seem quite affordable...
Can't believe they don't let you know which levels are still missing. I did a few levels some time back, came back at it and then... how the heck do I know which ones I have left? This only is a game-killer...
Was a fun one but somewhat unbalanced. Overpowering works so well, the real challenge is only the octopus. A hint? Maximize a few spells and your troop speed, otherwise you'll keep getting crushed.
Corrosive glue and tack shooters to start with, banana farms (a lot of them, quickly) and then maulers, and monkey gods, and maulers, and more fully upgraded glue guys. And that's it. Where's the challenge in single entry/single exit mode? Great ideas though... 4/5
I guess it was fun until the towers are maxed. Any game that has a unique strategy across all levels deserves no more than a 2/5. The first few levels were entertaining, though...
I love this game but it really needs a practice mode... e.g. start at floor 50 to get familiar with the layouts. I hate it when I get to 300,000 and get surprised by some stuff I don't know... and die without even understanding what I should do. Evil. Evil. Evil. Evil.
To Riker1990 - yes there is. The whole strategy is to get your very first shot (vertical) at the right timing to cross the entire area and fill 50%. You then divide it again in 2 and unless you are REALLY unlucky with the trapped colors, the 3rd (and final) line is a piece of cake...
The concept is good but 1. the complexity curve is not there. It gets too hard too quickly and 2. it is utterly painful to try to release a ball on 1 and see it leave on 2. the lag is just ugly on a game of synchronization. This is just unplayable.
Hard to believe that this crap made it to badges. Is there someone in the house running quality control? This really does not serve Kongregate AT ALL...
