The game explains the song in saying that when you take drugs you are not the same as you are without drugs and that sometimes taking the road without drugs makes you a better person and you might find it easier to get through in life (if you notice in the game during the drug portion you feel like it's really unreasonable and that you will never make it home because of how long the path is but, when you then take the non-drug path, it takes only a few seconds and the first verse of the song isn't even done yet showing that the non-drug path was easier to take)
