Wow.
The game crashed SO hard that it broke IE 10's built-in Flash Player, and I can't figure out how to turn it back on.
Now I can't seem to play ANY games on Kongregate ;(
Pardon my french, but how the f*ck did this game get badged!? From the unresponsive keys, the sound going in and out, and the massive memory leaks, I get the distinct impression that the devs didn't even bother play-testing this game before slapping it up on kong!
That, or this is a bad bootleg copy that was stolen from a different developer and has several crucial lines of code missing >:(
1/5 stars for that mutherf*cking room where you have to wall-jump your way up a 45 degree overhang and you have to start over from the beginning if you fall because there's no freaking way you can grab the wall again if you overshoot! RAAAAAAAGE!!!! That part made me want to snap my keyboard in half! >_<
Well, I decided to stick with this game and I gotta say, it's way more fun at level 272 than it is at level 50. My main complaint is still the long 2 day cooldown on bosses. Sure, you can do other people's bosses on the Raids tab, but each player is operating on a 2 day cooldown for each boss and you can only join if they share their boss fights, so you can't always find the boss you're looking for. Plus the long cool down time means it takes weeks to unlock new bosses, since you need to beat the prievous boss 5 times to unlock the next one. The whole pay2win thing turns out to be a non issue, since you can get plenty of free Favor Points from doing Turf War challenges, and the number of friends in your mob has a bigger impact on your fight strength than your equipment.
Hey chefcook90, glad you kept playing and that you're enjoying it! The Boss cooldown is something that gets brought up from time to time, so we can certainly look at addressing it. Thanks for your feedback! :)
I put all of my points into Energy and Stamina and got all the way to level 61 before petering out. Would have gotten farther IF THE BOSSES DIDNT TAKE TWO WHOLE DAYS TO RESPAWN! You can give and receive boosts to refill energy/stamina, but you can only use each once per day. What's up with that?
Not much point in sticking around after getting the badges - PvP is pretty much dominated by the pay2winners, and bosses respawn too slowly to keep PvE interesting.
The Bosses do refill kind of slowly, that's true, but try hitting your friend's Bosses to off set that. Check out the "Raids" tab. Thanks for the feedback!
Do yourselves a favor - don't play this game. And whatever you do ABSOLUTELY DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON THIS GAME. I made the horrible mistake of spending $10 on ridiculously overpowered ships and commanders, and a few days later one of the top players on the server rolled in and destroyed every one of my ships, killed all of my commanders, and plundered all of my resources. Complete waste of time and money.
Nevermind, I figured it out: It's the way damage multipliers work. Initial damage can't be reduced below 1, so if you're playing with a 10x damage multiplier you'll be taking at least 10-ish damage per hit regardless of how high your defense rating is.
Is anyone else having trouble with their armor? I have 33 base defense plus another 75 defense from my armor, but I'm taking just as much damage as my mercs, who are only using the 20 defense football armor.
Kings Bounty is either an idle browser game cleverly disguised as a turn-based strategy game... or a really, really, REALLY screwed up "pay2play, or wait forever2play" turn-based strategy game.
One of the best idle browser games I've played. Except for the lag. The lag can be pretty horrible sometimes. I'm not sure why people are complaining about wait times, especially when it comes to producing resources - just spam adventures with your sworn swords and you'll have all the resources you'll need.
Great game! My only issue was with the melee units: IMO rogues outclass both of the other melee classes. They might move as fast or have as much knock back resistance, but their ability to dodge incoming attacks and land massive criticals gives them incredible staying power AND dps. Knights seem downright squishy compared to assassins; it would be nice if they could block attacks with their shields. Warriors are even squishier - their high speed, knock-back, and damage isn't worth much when they instantly get mowed down by magicians.
Refreshing the page and clearing your browser cache helps. :)
