Been playing for about 4 hours now, and I think there's a bit of a memory leak. Either that or the game just starts becoming a resource hog as you start unlocking more things. Either way, something needs to be fixed/optimized
I was all for giving this version a shot with the new mechanics in the Elixirs, Golden Beetles, and what looks to be challenges later on. Despite the ton of quality of life features that were removed, I figured it was worth a shot and the gameplay wasn't too far off, and maybe even improved in some regards. However, regardless of how innocent it began, the new ascension system has got to be the biggest joke in the world. The game has slowed to a standstill for me and yet I just have to cast spells for the next few days to accomplish absolutely nothing before I even have a chance to get my first ascension. Hard pass.
My improved next-at doesn't seem to be working while I'm in challenges. I wasn't sure if this was intended or not, but the patch notes and (albeit probably unofficial) wiki both say it should. Is this intended or am I doing something wrong?
It doesn't work on some challenges like UAC, UBC, or CBC. They reset your GP stats, so you need to buy it again or purchase the improved next at for challenges.
Oh I see what you mean now... I just realized it's even in my settings page. I just didn't expect to look there for the loot filter. Thanks for the clarification
Hey SOMETHINGGGG, I sent you a PM with gyazo links to show that Loot Filter is busted for anyone who didn't buy it before the update. IIRC Kongregate doesn't allow links in comments. Hope that clears up the issue for you, and thanks for being so active in communicating with the community.
I can't message you back via pm's because you're set to private, so here's my reply:
You're confusing the improved loot filter with the basic loot filter. Head to the settings tab, and set up the basic loot filter there :).
I awarded everybody the free basic loot filter when i messed up a setting on patch... i think .350. Problem is you wouldn't have seen the tooltip to tell you to go to the settings page and set it up.
I've been having this weird bug with all laser units where I can't set their production above 0%. Here's a gif of what happens.

This appears to be a problem in my save file, as I've tried it across multiple browsers. Any chance there's a way to fix this?
I'm having a bug that make it pretty much impossible for me to progress. Anytime I try to slide the Laser units up from 0%, they automatically adjust back to 0%. This makes it impossible for me to actually make any crystals past the early game Geologists. I also have not been getting any Carpenters upon traveling from the Followers, which sucks but isn't as big of a deal.
Upgrading the tree/rock without any knowledge of what their hp will be after leveling up feels like garbage. There's no reason you should ever be worse off after an upgrade, especially considering how slow the gold gain increases vs costs. There either needs to be a way to go down in tree/rock levels, or to see the hp before buying the upgrades.
There's a bug here:

Not sure if it's visual or not, but something I noticed was that you could buy wood with ships yesterday. I'm guessing that option was taken out and the ports were never updated?
@Josch the idea of the plantations is that you trade the food cost of slaves for water instead. Water is much easier to produce, and having more food allows you to buy more slaves.
It's still pretty bad because low morale makes it bad early game and you can just fight the first group for a large number of slaves later, but it's still useful for "generating" food which counts towards achievement points.
Haha! When I first released the elves, their final enemy was the dwarves, intending to make the dwarves the 4th race. Now there are five races and still no dwarves :P. They will come eventually though!
Small visual bug, if you have Conclaves to Sacrifice and Obelisks to Study, then the Acolyte consumption goes to -1, even if much more of it is being consumed
It feels like the prestige system is extremely underwhelming. In fact, in most cases it just feels like the amount of time that would be needed to break even just sets you behind. The main benefit of the prestige system seems to be shorter time inbetween battles, but the achievement points themselves take so long that by prestiging, you're losing way more time to climb back to where you were before. The benefit doesn't really seem to help you break any walls either.
Disregard my last comment, I just realized that was probably how you intended it to be. The way I read the patch notes and the way "Fight" and "Automatic" were separate in the last iteration kind of made me think "Fight" and "Safe" had to be separate too.
I'm having the same problem as XJoschYZ. I just started up the game and with the combat reset, I put both Safe and Max on. When the timer hits 0, nothing happens. It only works if I have Fight enabled too.
Seems like a great game. My only problem with it is that it's labeled as idle when this is so far removed from idling. You're pretty much penalized for idling, since the competitions keep going (and keep getting harder) whereas if you idle, your skills will definitely not go up fast enough to stay relevant. That's added to the fact that it seems like once you fall behind in the competitions, you're doomed to stay forever 5th by a decent margin.
It doesn't keep getting harder, you are matched with "contestants" of similar stats, but I'm aware that's a rather awkward design decision and will change it once the voting phase ends. Thanks!
