The townspeople are constantly getting in my way when I'm trying to go inside a building. I keep forgetting to actually move the thing I just made from the building to my inventory. I've spent over an hour trying to gather enough iron ore to do anything worthwhile (because I have to keep going back to town to recharge stamina - items just don't raise it enough to be practical) and the controls are just plain garbage! Frankly, taken with my other two comments about difficulties this game presents, I can't understand why anyone has given this more than 1 star. I'm not trying to be mean, and I'm no newbie (check my profile...). I don't comment much, but when I do, it's because something really stands out. This is my third negative comment about your game. I'm sorry to say, but I can't see how you could improve anything. I'd scratch the whole thing and start over. Sorry if this upsets you, but sometimes the truth hurts.
I'm not scrapping the whole game - it's pretty rude to give suggestions for improvements, and then say I can't improve anything. I have already been working on many improvements from other comments, many of which you mentioned, including the controls and automatically taking items from the storehouse for crafting. Maybe the game is just not for you, but maybe the update will actually make it better.
When you use all of a particular item in the inventory, it should become invisible/be deleted. When I open my inventory at the start of a game, I don't have a list of everything I've discovered followed by the number currently in my possession. Likewise, once I've used up all the berries in my bag, I don't need an entry in the list of items I'm carrying telling me I have zero. I know this. I also know that I have zero left-handed monkey wrenches. Why is that information not provided?
If a resource is in the storehouse, it should be available to whatever building/recipe uses it. I'm gathering wood, coal and iron ore to make iron bars and finding that two of these resources are plentiful. The third is sparse. So I keep finding myself overloaded with the first two (among other things), and no room to pick up the ore once I have found it. This doesn't add any enjoyment or realism to the game, only mind-numbing tedium.
"Excuse me, Commander? That alien is eating its' way towards me, leaving only partial corpses in its' wake. I think it is taking advantage of how our limited training precludes us from attacking outside of the 15 degree variance to the left and right of directly in front of us. Was that limitation intended as some sort of moral code we simply will not violate? I mean, should I just let it brutally and painfully devour me in the event it approaches me from, say, 31 degrees off center? Cause I could totally kill it first." COMMANDER: "You lucky you about to die, boy, else I'd kill you where you stand for even thinking to utter that blasphemy!"
I have never once used the remove building item. Reading through the comments, I can see why it is needed for certain circumstances, but I think it would be nice to have the ability to sell items to the trader. After all, a trader isn't much of a trader if they don't purchase items as well. Otherwise they are only sellers. Ok, so technically, they are only traders if they exclusively take other items in exchange. However, to counter that point, it can be argued that currency itself is the item traded. All right, before I argue with myself to the point of absurd obscurity, I am going to stop typing.
I'm having an issue with the sale of equipment. Some of the items in my inventory are no longer being used, but when I go to the sale screen, it still shows the E on the icon as if it were equipped. Sometimes I can get it to clear out by reselecting the item in the equipment tab and then going back to the sale tab, but for the most part, everything I buy from the shop ends up just taking up space in my inventory.
Two swords (primary and secondary), 1 shield and 1 armor always have to be equipped. In order to sell a piece of equipment you have to remove it from all 4 equip styles (fencing, 2-hand, Shield and Dual Swords.) I designed it a long time ago thinking players would need to switch between different styles and equipment a lot but the game went a slightly different direction. It is causing a lot of trouble so I will try to work on a new version of the menu soon.
I have encountered a few bugs. The screen freeze (I'm guessing that's the issue when the mouse is no longer able to click on the icons) still exists since your update that tried to fix it. Also, if you have all of the party members hired and all the quests auto-starting, then you fire the first one (Recruit 1), the Houseware Crafting quest will not stop auto-starting, although the Search for Grail quest will. Even if you go back and hire the first recruit again, the Search for Grail quest will not begin auto-starting again. You have to fire the party member for that quest (Recruit 15), and re-hire him. Likewise, the same is true for party members/quests #2 & 14, and I am guessing it continues in this fashion, inverted for some reason. This also raises the question, "Why would you want to fire a party member?" It's not like you can get a better one if you do... You just re-hire the same person.
This game is great! I've been addicted to it since I first started playing. Thanks for putting something so great out there without expecting everyone to pay a monthly premium. I've noticed that you really pay attention to what people suggest, which is also amazing. I'm watching for things that don't work, but so far I haven't found much. The only thing I've really noticed is when you get into battles with the pirates, the text says, "A bullet hits the your ship..." (The "the" needs to be removed). I know I saw a minor grammatical error somewhere else but can't remember what it was. I might be missing it, as I haven't really searched, but can you see the previous messages that have displayed in the dialog box above the active modules? I sometimes see flashes of a message but then it gets overwritten by another one.
