Also, a map feature would be nice, cause I've seen it pull back and give you a wider view, but I have no idea how to make it actually happen on command.
My only complaint is you can only see the full effects of the armor/weapons when you pick them up. In the inventory screen it just has the simple description. Which makes it hard if you forget to look at the pick up screen and then have no idea whether the bonus of the item is worth the drop in stats it offers.
Click once on the item in your inventory, and the panel with your stats will show you the bonuses for that item. The effect on the item is described in the name (you are right that it doesn't repeat the detailed description, not enough room in the inventory screen).
Also, the upgrade feature is atrocious. The soldiers move too fast for me to be able to do anything. And since they're typically constantly moving, I end up clicking on the wrong one, which causes the one I'm TRYING to upgrade to die.
Maybe have a mass upgrade button for each warrior class, so you don't have to try to click on the right one that doesn't sit still?
Also, the mana vials don't stay for very long. I barely have time to get them as they are sometimes hard to see.
And the starting mana for each level is impossible to work with. I can't upgrade any of my warriors because if I do, I won't have enough mana to use them. My staff is at level 10, and I'm only starting with 175 which only allows me to place roughly 1-2 level one defenders. And I get decimated. Either give a starting mana bonus for each level, or not make the mana regen bonus linear. I put 15 stars in it for it to only be at level 4? And I can't do anything with that because at Round Four, because I have level 0 characters. It's as if you're forcing the player to unbalance his characters in relation to the enemies.
Otherwise, it's fun. Wish the screen was wider so you had time to plan.
I think there is something wrong with the speed button. It seems to be out of order. I will click on the 1x speed, and it will be the slowest. But if I cycle through again, the 2x button is medium, while the 3x is slowest, and the 1x is fastest.
safe teleports take from your "focus" points. After this they are just teleports. Much of the point is to find/create for yourself a position where if you'd just stand still and never move all the robots would die. Once you find that just hit "Enter" and all robots will rush to you. Each one that dies this way gives you said "focus" points. You should pretty much strive to do that every level so you have enough safe-teleports (focus) for the next one. Sounds complex but this is actually pretty much it.
Clipping issues in the door on the way to the candle (the one just below the dragon head ledge). I was able to blow myself through the door, and now I can't get back. Game is currently unplayable now.
I like the part where you need 4 different resources to buy stuff, and you never get what you actually need, nor do you get enough to actually upgrade the traps in any way.
Mousewheel or the minus key!
