I don't see the problem. The message alerted you that there was an update, and it told you what the update was about. That's the point of an update notification, isn't it?
In transition mode, you don't move right/left, you turn right/left. So after pressing right you should immediately press left to keep running in the good direction.
How to greatly increase your chances of winning at roulette: choose your first bet, and put it in red. If you win, take the bet. If you lose, double your bet and replay.
