Was necromancer nerfed rlly hard? In my last run any skeleton (lvl 14) I summoned would not survive past 3 turns before being annihilated by puny wolves, leaving me vulnerable to melee attacks most of the time. I was lucky to find many INT boosting items and scrolls to enhance my toxic power build, and as soon as I step on the vault of Yendor... surprise! Toxic resistant skeletons. Toxic cloud useless, the archers outdamaged my life pike healing, and I found myself depleting my mana bar to pump out as many skeletons as I could to survive, but it got to the point where Liches spawned and revived skellies faster than I could defeat them, so I made a run for the stairs. And the next floor greets me with Haste Golems that one hit every skellie I summoned, eventually got cornered and one hit my character as well.
Maybe it was just bad RNG, or necromancer run is really that challenging now, but if anyone wants to try here is the seed: 89360412211
Here on my yearly replay of this game, it suddenly popped in my head and i just had to experience it again, was not disappointed! Game is still as amazing as i remember it :)
It has been exactly 1 year since i discovered and completed this hidden gem of a game. Replayed it today and still has the same charm as when i first played it :)
"Phew, level 3 complete now let's check that easy badg- hold up you mean i just finished Chapter 1??!!"
For real though, this BoTD should be a medium badge. 5 pts isn't worth the hassle, let alone on a card game.
Lol why do i always get the worst ending on my first playthrough in games like these? I really enjoyed the game and sticked to it until i unlocked all the achievements, i could read through the dialogues again and again and i wouldn't get bored, i loved the jokes and the drama on certain parts, the soundtrack also plays a great role, i'm not surprised why this game made it to the first place on a Space Cowboy themed Game Jam. 5/5
SPOILER ALERT:
How was i supposed to know that some herbs would stop a pack of wolves, that a person was trapped beneath a landslide, that some drunk guy would hit me with a bottle when the protagonist should know beforehand what they are capable of while being in that state, and that trying to cheer the villagers rather than actually help them with their houses would be a better choice? Overall a game that makes you think very carefully in what you are about to choose, however some little details on the dialogues regarding to the current context would make some things have more sense, and even though i got the bad ending i still enjoyed the narrative and the development of the story through the protagonist's perspective, i have played your previous games like Home and The Journey Home, so i didn't expect less from this game. I'd give this a 4.8/5
