Not really sure what happened, I failed a couple times and I was at the end status screen? Do you have a limited number of fails or something. I played the xmas edition first, which is better, but I am disappointed in that they are almost identical. The only differences is the 25 days for xmas, some santas, and I think 2 new upgrades at the bottom of the upgrades screen, for money and infecting thru people. 3/5.
fun but can't beat the game with everything maxed out and no more than 5 times failing lol
tips to new comers:pick up the coins before you start the game, you can have it and use it, usually 2k+ so you can buy spread lv1 or anything else you like
