Oof. For anyone here who is confused about the rating, this used to be quite an enjoyable game. The wall-clip glitch wasn't always present in the game, and definitely wasn't occurring as recently as a year or so ago so it wasn't due to a dev update. Something with the way flash is handled now must have somehow caused the glitch, and it completely breaks everything now making the game unplayable. Rest assured though that the game used to be quite bug-free and very enjoyable which is why it has such a high rating. It's a shame to see it's become so unplayable now.
Finally, many of the numbers presented are inaccurate. The price deducted for hiring an accountant never seems to match the amount given in the lower-left, for example. Training also never seems to increase my profit by the actual amount specified. In the same vein, skills also don't seem to increase my profits by the amount it says they should.
All in all the concept is interesting and I look forward to seeing further development!
Seems like a promising game, but it could really use some better balance. By the 5th or 6th job it takes a disproportionately long time to finish out your skill points and move on to the next job. The number of skill points required to advance as well as the cost of each skill point seem to scale much more quickly than one would expect compared to how quickly your potential profit grows.
In addition, purchasing training is a double edged sword as is right now. I've noticed that it's not at all uncommon for your total income to decrease when buying training, because it increases your expenses more than your bonus. This is counterintuitive and very frustrating when you spend money just to decrease your overall profit.
I'm mildly sad that this game has been wiped away after the downfall of unity web player. I played this game several times when it was available and just came back to play through it again only to find I can't get it to work on any browser, even Firefox ESR recently dropped unity web player support. Oh well, it's still a good memory at least I guess.
My rusty axe broke early in the game before I realized broken items are permanently irretrievable, and now it seems it's important for something in the late game. So warning to all you new players out there, don't let your rusty axe break!
**SPOILERS TO FOLLOW** You've been warned!
How to get all hidden achievements.
Click!: Just click on the achievement
Say His Name: Click on Heisenberg.. erm I mean the shopkeep a few times
Knock, knock: Click the shop counter a few times
Iron Man: Wear a full set of fully upgraded iron gear
Heavyweight: Wear a full set of fully upgraded gold gear
Deathless: Wear a full set of fully upgraded diamond gear
Wow.. Clicked the reset button to see if it offered any kind of ascension benefit as most idle games do, only to find that it completely wipes your data with no confirmation box or anything.. terrible design, 1/5
Ok, how the heck are people getting to their first ascend/fifth nexus so fast? even discounting the obvious hackers on the leaderboard, people are doing it in well under a day, while I require TWO DAYS just to gather the energy for my fifth nexus and I've already been playing a day or two... I feel like I'm missing something here
Ok apparently my save is broken.. I was relatively close to finishing the game (about to unlock the last zone of elements) when my screen suddenly went black. Now every time I reload the game I see the developer's plug at the beginning (the new project logo) but then the game just goes black again..
If you don't see the screen with "continue" button and the "Idle Evolution" logo, you don't lose your savegame! Try to clear your browser's cache, NOT the cookies. Good luck.
Ugh, Kongregate sucks at formatting comments. Hopefully somebody can decipher that last comment I made and find use of those formulas, apologies mates :)
Second tip because I'm cool like that. Here's the formula for how many Angels correlate with a given amount of total cash.
AI = sqrt($ / 44,444,444,444)
AI represents total Angel Investors, $ represents lifetime total cash earned.
Keep in mind the AI variable in that formula includes your current Angels as well as the ones you've killed off with Angel upgrades. Since the formula works on an exponential function it gets a lot harder to earn more Angels if you're not careful about when you kill them off. Generally you don't want to spend more that 20% of your total Angels on upgrades in one reset, that should keep you well above the black on earning Angels.
Oh, one last thing, the inverse of the formula in case you wanna work out the total cash required to reach a certain number of Angels:
$ = AI^2 x 44,444,444,444
Keep in mind that this INCLUDES Angels you've killed off with upgrades, so you should expect your actual Angel number to be a little lower than the formula predicts.
Psst, quick tip for everyone: Wanna figure out your total hourly, minutely, or second-ly income? Just go to the Kred menu and click the time skip button. The game should pop up a box asking if you're sure you wanna spend your Kreds and gain X amount of money (you can do this even if you've never had any Kreds, as I haven't). That X amount of money will be your 24-hour income, so just divide that number by 24 to get your hourly income, which you can then divide further to find your income by minute or second. Hope this helps some people out, and thanks to the developers for continuing to update this addictive game :)
Aw, the income calculator by garas doesn't work anymore with the latest update.. I know the devs have been talking about including income stats in a future update, hopefully that one comes sooner rather than later :)
Actually, we loved that calculator! It was very very cool. Our new save system won't be compatible with these tools (not on purpose, of course, just a result of re-writing the backend). We hope they get it back online though, even as we work on our own stat stuff. :)
3. The button does not appear in the staff management menu to fire service staff. This isn't a big issue though, if you click where the "fire" button should obviously be, it will fire them as though the button was there.
4. When you have more than 1 service staff, they will not work at the same time. If many record shelves are all emptied at once, they will still only fill them 1 by 1. Not sure how to work around this, I just keep 1 service staff and try to set up my store to minimize losses from temporarily empty shelves.
5. After that one day I mentioned having to reload several times, I found the business charts in my office branched off into several different paths from the day I had reloaded so many times on; The days before remained as they had been before. Odd stuff.
Hope this information helps you guys a little; This is a great game if you can get past the bugs.
2. Game will sometimes get locked up in the "day progression stage" after all customers are gone and it should be showing the daily progress. My best solution for this one is to save every single day before you open the store so you can simply replay the day if it occurs. Usually the day will play through ok after reloading the game, but I once played through a day 4 times only to have it lock up at the end every time.. I finally noticed there was a customer stuck on my soda machine at the end of it every time, so I reloaded the game a fifth time and removed the soda machine before starting and it played through the whole day fine; so try to look at where customers are getting stuck if you repeatedly get this glitch.
For the sake of the developer I'll try to list some of the bugs that are still in the game since I know he's fixed some of them, and for the sake of the players I'll provide what solutions I've found..
1. Infamous "Day not starting glitch".. Sometimes the game will randomly decide it doesn't want to let you click the open store button. The fix for this is easy though, just save the game then reload the page/game.

Yeah, this game is friggin ridiculous. Yeah, this is a game about timing alright. Crossing your fingers and hoping your enemies timing works out in a way that it's possible to hit him. Yeah, it's impossible to hit the enemy unless he decides to stand still without attacking for a few seconds, since you miss if he's moving when you start the attack, you miss if he's moving when the attack finishes, and you miss if he's attacking when your attack finishes. Next time try to involve some skill instead of just hoping you get bloody lucky..
you can just go fishing, to get another one :)
