It's awesome that you're getting your stuff out on Kongregate! The screen is a little small. Not sure if you have it set to integer scaling only or something? Also the jump SFX is still pretty loud. Something more subtle would help. I also noticed that once you get to the bottom, you can't jump quite high enough to get back up on the platform. Maybe that was intentional, but you're pretty much stuck waiting for game over at that point. Keep rocking #1GAM though, you'll just get better and better!
It would really help the balance if the distance you could travel with each new tank was bumped up by 5x. Also, the way the tank comes to a complete halt when you fire makes it feel very frustrating to wait to accelerate again. The art is great, but the music is a bit repetitive/loud.
Followed the link from your LD27 entry. Way to go getting this up on Kong! It's a simple game, but everything is relatively well put together and the style feels consistent. Keep innovating and sharing!
@zlindstrom you can change spells. Open you inventory (hotkey I) then drag your spell icon into an empty slot. I wish you could just drop it on another spell to swap with one action instead of 2 and requiring an empty slot.
Ok, so I tried to give this a second chance and play through it again, making the opposite choices just in case I somehow missed the point the first time. ... Nope. I would probably rate this 1/5 for the second time too if I could. If somebody can point out how this is confrontational, engaging, or makes me think about what I'm doing in life in any conceivable way, I'm all ears. Some of you must get it for this to be over 4/5. Or maybe we feel more cultured the more stars we give the "artsy" game???
This game is painfully... painful. Once you unlock the "spin" move, on windows, hit shift 5 times. When it asks if you want to turn on sticky keys, say yes. now you can just poke the shift key once and let him slowly waste his own life away.
(hit shift 5 times again to shut it back off)
Alternatively, you can set a book on the keyboard. ;-)
Some of the puzzles were a little impossible to figure out w/o the guide, but the story line and landscape provided an impressively immersive world for a flash game. And for that 5/5

Seriously the Fibonacci sequence defines flower petals in nature, why not here too?
Try typing in the Fibonacci sequence [1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, etc] , replacing the oldest box with the newest value. (1, 1, 2) then (3, 1, 2) then (3, 5, 2). Or you can ad some number the the beginning and make a new series.
You get some fun web looking stuff that takes a while to become symmetrical.
@snowyapples on lvl 9 build up some momentum with an infinite loop (position the portals so that arriving at one will send you into the other) then when you're really moving, place a portal to redirect your motion in a more helpful direction.
@DeathKaiser on lvl 6, use the portal to redirect your momentum. (usually you can build up a lot more by falling) The marks on the floor help with the placement.
Excellent game. Just finished it. Unique problem solving setup and there's enough freedom in placing portals that you can develop your own "style" or set of techniques for moving around. 5/5
Forgot to mention another HUGE flaw. When you click "cancel" because you didn't want to use an ability or start a PVP match, don't screw over a player for clicking on the wrong thing in your interface. Give them their quantums or money back.
I agree the balance is a little off, the PVP match system is horrible. So you have a new player (score ~ 0) pay 20 coins to play an advanced player (score 700+)... right, that's never gonna end well. Then you are instructed to improve your deck, but there are only 4 cards available to purchase? I don't want to play 100 rounds of this to wait for the roulette to hand me 3 decent cards.
Everything else about the game however, is pretty sweet, but the few flaws I mentioned are big ones. 2/5
