Aww man. No one has tagged this as multiplayer yet. All I saw was "Action" and "RPG". I thought "Omigod! I haven't seen one of those on Kong in a LONG time" Just to find out..... another pay to play multiplayer....great...
What's going on with the description of the levels? None of the ones that say they have snow have any. In fact 11 is filled wth nothing but sand, rock, palm trees and cacti.... I felt awkward driving my blizzard white snow truck in there. But that unfortunately reinforced the fact that it doesn't matter what vehicle you drive in any terrain.
Finger Usage: Just keep your finger on the up key (or W) and keep tapping the ctrl key with your other hand. From there on, all you're doing is steering left and right (or A & D).
Money Usage: Save up for the Asphalt Attacker car (since the last and most profitable lvl is Tarmac) Do not put any money into other cars, just keep lvling up the "AA", no matter what terrain you're driving on. Keep unlocking the highest lvl you can, even above upgrading the car. When you get to lvl 12, you'll be earning 12,00 per race and should quickly afford to upgrade everything and kick other lvls butts!!
You end up just steering like you would through a normal racer, but constantly jamming on the ctrl key. Then whenever it lets you, it just automatically changes your drift direction.
This is pretty good. And Huge LongAnimals fan btw! It does seem weird that you're not in control of your own drifting...You're only allowed to drift and change drifts when it tells you to. It almost seems like you should start off on your own, and near the end of the game you'd be able to afford an upgrade (like a passenger navigator) that told you when to drift. Instead you start off with it, so you don't really feel the advantage of drifting direction, only the limitation.
Along with Zanduken's comment about not pressing End Now.... If you switch windows/tabs for awhile it really messes with the AI. Badger Forests has not made a hole in under 110 seconds for the whole round I'm in.
The only standout thing for this game is the different abilities that different pirates have, although I don't really know what they do outside of the little picture. (Why do I want two shovels vs. one?)
Do not play Glean and then play this game. Big letdown.
I don't like not being able to dig up or (while jumping) sideways. It's too annoying to get stuck and have to rely on the bell and bombs all the while missing out on booty!
There's one pretty big bug: at some point after either a cerain upgrade or if it is the level "Swamps", the mines block stops working. Before then it would be throwing mines out everywhere. For the past three levels it just sits there, even after leveling it up.
It seems like there are skills that obviously replace other skills (I:you heal allies 3 pts, II:you heal allies 5 pts) If this is the case it'd be better to see a tree of what is unlockable. It stinks when you spend another one of your precious 15 pts on round II or III without wasting the point on round I when you didn't know round II existed.
Here's a bug: 2 people left on each side, the person who is next dies from fire (mine), which causes an inferno killing the person who goes after that. Now the game is stuck with the remaining two waiting for the person who died from inferno to go.
When you move in to a square with two or more enemies surrounding you, what is the deciding factor of who you'll hit? Lowest HP? Most Damage Given? It'd be nice to know that for strategy purposes?
The Red X button in the corner should have a title when you hover over it (END GAME). I was just trying to have a character wait a turn. Now I have to start over and still figure out how to wait a turn :(
sorry, that's a bug!
