Hmm. I rated 4/5 because the sophistication, flexibility of strategy and "fun" element are pretty good compared to a lot of what comes through here. You can grind for a bit to get a start advantage, but there's still a need for some twitch skill and pattern recognition. However... I'm torn on the control scheme. Instant pause/inventory/shop menu? Great. But the auto-aiming and mouse control combined? It's good in theory, but I kept having an issue with needing to direct the boat around bullets, but also needing to fire at a powerful ship I was moving away from (and hitting tiny, non-threatening sharks nearby instead). Maybe have a control scheme option, allowing WASD boat control and mouse aiming?
So in the first round I found Anna almost immediately, so her help made getting the badge achievements extra easy. Then I remembered the virus could be found. Second round I find the Virus almost immediately :)
Look forward to a sequel with a little more complexity to the combat/damage system, new objectives, and maybe Anna trying to rescue her father after the ferry crashes or something.
Pretty interesting spin on the crime solve genre, plus it was nice to bring in the popular Minesweeper mechanic (with the handy tool of revealing tiles with Shop items). Pretty original, a good puzzler and rather fun. Graphics, music and a story are the only points that you might improve upon for a sequel.
GETTING TIME STARS: Basically, blitz your way through the story levels. You need to complete all the objectives, but beyond that, just forget killing every enemy or blowing up every building.
Multiple plays help to get familiar with the map. Recommend the White Spider Legs and Less Cooldown upgrade so you can blaze through.
Replayed final boss for full XP and "Ultimate Master of Ultimate Destiny" rating.
Pretty good game, but the tower section would benefit from respawning enemies.
