when you buy a new animal like a horse that can go 15 km/h how do you mount it or something b/c i got one and i still only go 5 km/h can somebody help me?

awesome game but can you hire the mercenary without paying like does he come later in the game cause hes in the inn and when you pay if you do does he stay like as a party member?
nice concept and everything but way too glitchy on AND BIGGER i made a circle and i went up and i randomly died out of nowhere i was nowhere close a spike and died. The game is good but way to glitchy 3/5
