Physics are a bit annoying but otherwise great! I like how the solar panel upgrade asks the interesting decision: to ensure a path back up, or to dig straight down?
I was running for an antidote and it was right in front of me but the game decided I REALLY wanted to get in the car NOW and took control from me. Taking control from the player is one of the worst things you can do in game design. (And the car does nothing!)
Zombies? Check.
Auto-scrolling? Check.
Slow movement? Check.
1D aiming? Check.
The game isn't mechanically broken but it's poorly designed and not really fun. (and it lags a bit)
It took me 140 jumps for all badges and 131800 high score. You want to fly up and and do all your tricks rapidly to build a multiplier, then hold out the Hang Glider, then spam Pole Vault with Up-N-Out (and Superman if possible) for massive score. I didn't think the game was that bad or grindy. You people don't know what a REAL grind is. The bosses were a pleasant surprise.
TIP: The final boss deals 8 unstoppable DPS and tries to have poison/physical/stun immunity up IN THAT ORDER. If you're not careful he will literally be unstoppable. Other than blindness (which isn't a problem for me) he has no tricks or indirect DPS, so plan your gear accordingly. This game is piss poor IMO, since it requires the use of 9 skills (going beyond the normal 7 memory limit), tries to perma-lock you into the losing state (horrible design by any measure), requires arbitrary dexterity and reaction time, and it's not even fun. There aren't ANY standardized mechanics, just a bunch of annoying skills and timers. Clicking away at buttons in a predetermined order to defeat 1-dimensional AI is not fun nor interactive. It's trial and error, which is some of the worst gameplay. Aside from the questing parts you spend a solid 80% of the "game" reading enemy skills just to try and guess the MAGIC sequence to break through their wall of BS.
Rhythm based obstacles that don't reset when you respawn is a recipe for disaster. And the shapes become disorienting during some parts because there are no graphics. And the color cubes are SO small and hard to hit! And you repeat obstacles SO MUCH. And your character goes off screen to jack up difficulty for no reason. And being upside down doesn't magically make the game better! And you spend most of the game WAITING, and never make any decisions. This game is not fun, only annoying and boring! Doesn't deserve its badge.
