@pillerperson The Enfeeble ability didn't get released until after Enfeebler was made (Standard card, Blight expansion ability) and if Enfeebler did get Enfeeble the card would have to be re-balanced or moved to the Blight expansion.
The gameplay is really good and I like the upgrade variety. The thing I hate the most is definitely the unbalanced gameplay. I've just gotten the first Warp Key and I literally have no idea how to advance forward: the easiest levels are capped at level 8 when my ships are level 9 and 10, so I get reduced exp, but the enemies are still hard as nails. My new ships are pathetically weak, and there's no easy way to grind them up to higher levels. For all the upgrade variety, the upgrades themselves are too weak -- a "fully" upgraded ship at level 10 still fights toe to toe with a ship at level 1, with the only difference being the level 10 dies more slowly - which isn't much comfort since you're almost always outnumbered. I have to say, this game feels like either a beta that's going to be patched twice before being abandoned, or just "unpolished" as usual.
I dunno why people are still having trouble with saves. Mine works fine, although it seems to be a user issue. If you check RPG Shooter Starwish and Villainous's descriptions, they both have a help guide if you keep losing saves, since it's an issue with your internet's files not keeping flash game saves (which is what every non-multiplayer game on this site is).
The King is STILL the strongest character and the Knight is STILL the weakest: the Knight gets 8/+2 per sword upgrade, eventually doing only 12 damage melee, while the King has 5/+5 per fist upgrade, eventually doing 15... which, combined with his Brawler skill, lets him do insane damage- if there's even 2 enemies near him, his 15 damage punches (including his Area Attack when maxed out, good god) do 20 damage- enough to one hit kill those free-exp imps that are summoned. At least the Ranger and the Mage are now equally powered (that is, they're now the MVPs of the team when the King is too slow). I didn't like this one as much as the other two chapters, I really hope the game actually get more interesting instead of being the same game split up.
People who complain about too much story clearly haven't heard of the concept of a "Visual Novel" (you know, one of the genres). Trust me, google it. People make "games" like this. This is exactly how much story a visual novel has. 5/5, keep at it :).
Woo finally beat it. Got badges first time too, so thats good. I ended up dying more times from the lag caused by this awesome game on my crappy computer than anything else.
The skills REALLY need to be balanced more. The Mage, like everyone else says, is just overpowered because of Act 4X with 10 damage fireball, and completely overshadows the Ranger in almost everything except an area attack. The King, surprisingly, completely overshadows the Knight with 15 damage area attack and 15 damage single attack. Getting the hitpoint upgrade is still useless, except even more so since there's so little exp to level up your skills with. Some skills have a really low "upgrade" curve so it's worthless to upgrade compared to other things (+2 damage? That's it?) and passive skills currently suck. Still, a good game, but I expect better in the future.
Just to correct my previous statement, those LP stats are actually at the BEST of times. Your mileage may vary, but they're still the most effecient ways. Hooray for not having to sit through more than 1 year of gameplay since badges auto-update now. Good luck to anyone else playing this fun game! (5/5, balance the quests please)
This game is REALLY easy if you know the mechanics. Out of all the quests, the Wolf one that's 4 stars gives the biggest LP- 7000+. The Orc one and the Seductive Mistresses one give the second highest, 6000+ (also both 4 stars). The only 5 star hunt quest, killing angels, gives a pitiful amount (only about 4000 despite being much harder) and errand quests are only good for early game leveling of weak units (try to get a "Nice!" rating by sending one or two high level or skilled units; even then, its only about 2000 LP). Also, ONLY graduate students if they get the 50% bonus. Yes, even high level ones, it's worth it. Right now I'm in year 2 month 3 and I've got a buffer of 5000 fame before I lose because of this method, with 2 maxed out units and 550 income.
Rangers overpowered. Use Rune of Wind at 100% battle focus for machine-gun bow... and then switch to Rune of Stone to stun-luck the crap out of whatever is getting machine-gunned. I noticed that there's less kiting in this game than in the first, which is justified: melee troops make good meat shields. Still, the heart stone is just silly in how powerful it is... +300 or +500 in every stat? Seriously? I shouldn't have spent points on Dexterity if I knew I'd have 121% crit chance at the end.
A lot more fun if taken in small doses; don't just sit at your computer badge grinding for 2+ hrs! Late game is hectic and exciting, early game is easy and boring; just finished it in two sittings.
If anyone still can't get your achievements even after refreshing multiple times, just [PrintScreen] and make a screenshot of whatever you're supposed to have for an achievement and submit a missing achievement (Really, really hope you know where it is by now, it's pretty much essential knowledge for a badge-hunter. It's around where the badges are).
"Returning players, if you've come back to Heroes of Gaia after an extended period, you may find yourself confused about your account status. Feel free to contact an in-game GM about possible account reinstatement or modification."
Omg, that explains all the account deletions lately. Hopefully people actually read this so they can get their accounts back!
Atlantian Magus is also a pretty good choice (Although ice spells are way better than fire ones and Hunter has good buffs too); get over 100 of a resistance to start gaining mana from attacks of that element, and those annoying Charge-Ice-Golems are a problem of the past. Ice attacks own almost everything except pure physical (and ice, duh, use fire on them), and even then you can freeze the harder enemies. Also, the "arc" spells (such as both ice spells) pass through walls... And so do Charge-golems if you use this bug (Yes, they teleport through walls). Which can be awesome since you can get resistance to have Mana-bots following you. If you have over 100 fire resistance than you can spam the DOT fire spell on yourself for super mana regeneration like the Ice-Charge-Golems. I ended up suiciding at floor 17, with 1m+ mana pearls... Got bored, really. Needs save!
Atlantian Hunters (Not Magus, because Atlantians already have awesome spells, including one that freeze, and the +10 Ice/Poison resistance is better) are plain overpowered if you all-in willpower/intellect and run around with a Fish of Luck looting stuff and spamming the Frozen Wind. Add in Skeletons, Entangle to avoid bosses (Though, the 2nd ice spell you have already freezes enemies completely), and maybe an emergency Heal spell and you're pretty much good to go against anything except Ice-Chargers (Get over 100 ice resistance for a free mana-bot, or just switch to a diff spell)
