My recommendation for getting the 500 waters after doing far too much grinding would be on a run level 5 or higher. Make sure to try to aim for some bonuses on the run that'll make life easier like >150% magic runes bonus.
Two issues that are really cutting into my enjoyment of the game:
-When you get really fast, occasionally items will stay around on the cutting board, making it difficult to tell how many items you have left
-When you get to 7 items on the cutting board, regardless of if the 8th item is a match, you fail the level. Both times I got my streak relatively high I lost because of this. I know the warning is given at 6 items on the cutting board, but it seems silly to me that I could still go from a valid state to a losing state for completing a match!
Can't say that I'm a fan of having a hard cap at round 7. With no cap, it becomes an ever worsening question on whether or not the other is going to betray. With a hard cap at 7, it just means that the first 6 rounds are exactly the same (dominant strategy would dictate to simply always split these rounds, as almost nobody is going to work with you if you betrayed in any of the previous rounds), with a single round of a proper prisoner's dilemma, where you're going to return to the first round regardless of if you win or lose.
Don't think I didn't notice that the background is directly taken from Clock Tower (SNES) or that the Bah's eyes were literally emeralds from Minecraft. I love this series, but if you're going to release the games on Steam, you should probably not use stolen assets.
I don't know if it's been said, but there's a typo in the clock attack tutorial "For this example, the hand needs t obe inside the colored parts to do more damage." Should be "to be".
Fantastic Game! Beat it, then beat it again without killing anyone. I'm a little upset that there's no reward for doing it, but otherwise fantastic game!
To this day one of my all time favorite flash rhythm games, even greater than SCGMD4, which is an amazing accomplishment in my book. I'm still hoping with all my heart the developer is considering making DJManiax 2, as I would play that game to death.
It's like someone took everything that made the Max Payne series good, and put it perfectly into a 2-dimensional field. 5/5, and I'm going to be more careful around bananas from now on.
For those of you actually curious how quickly you can win, the quickest combination to win takes 22 turns. You'd need to get 3, 6, 6, 6, 6, 4, 5, 6, 6, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6, 6, 5, 3, 1, 6, 5, 6, 6, in that order. The quickest way to die takes 3 turns.
A nice addition would be a statistics page to see how well we're doing, such as average daily profit, amount of modules bought/upgraded, how many items produced on average each day, how much donated to city and to where. That sort of thing.
Thanks so much for creating a game like this. I've always been interesting on working on my own game, but haven't found a good place to start, and classes are difficult to find that don't treat you completely stupid. Thanks again for creating such a well made game.
Thoroughly enjoyed this game. Despite a few problems (insane lag spikes between chapters) I still had a lot of fun and enjoyed the cheesy, but lovable quality of a phoenix wright type game. The story was phenomenal, and the puzzles, albeit a bit simple (Most problems can be solved by questioning everything (just like real life)). I still had a lot of fun and can't wait to see what else is in store. 5/5
Glad you liked it man! :)
