Everyone keep comparing this to LBP-the similarities are undeniable. What many forget though, is that this game is free. For a FREE puzzle game...3/5.
Why 3/5? Well as what it is, it is an amazing physics puzzle game. I really enjoyed my time. However, Level 2: Race, is a the one thing that vexes any puzzler, a time trial. Puzzle games are in essence designed to make figure out how everything works together. Thats the point. You can (and many do) even add a time element to the puzzle where the actions have to be set up in a particular order-but when you hinge total completion of ANY puzzle game on a time trial completion under an unspecified limit, you steal the end of the game from many players. A waste that flat out annoys the crap out of me.
Linux is the future. When you cant load the OEM that the factory didn't send you, rather than shelling out $200 for an upgrade disk and realizing that it's not an actual install disc, you download ubuntu to one of the 17 flash drives you have and load up 10.10 for FREE! Freeware is the endgame. We just need time to catch up. We're closing in on you. And we dont have to worry about viruses!!!
Needs ability to fully upgrade at any time. I might be able to get further with a lot of practice but its just not worth it. Nice little game but when you can upgrade and you cant quite get to the next level you're stuck just grabbing more DNA. No point thereafter.
2-Lack of extended play. With the exception of sandbox mode - which i would assume is where most people spend the majority of their time playing this game - the levels are extremely short and constantly interrupted by dialogue and extra goals. I dont need a reminder every 30 seconds that I only need to last another 180,120,60. Its frustrating.
3-Sharp, short learning curve(and the lack of science)
While an interesting game, once all the options are available the simplest means of winning is just a circle of turrets and tesla coils. The energy system is unstable and can leave you with nothing so a quick few windmills at the beginning can save you-if the "zombies" dont destroy them.
Overall-
Its a nice little game....but it could be a lot better.
Honestly....not really that good. I mean the idea is nice and I like games of this style but there are major problems and a very sharp-but short-learning curve.
1
-Lag/time restrains/battle speed
In a few of the levels you enter and the battle is underway. The game lags horribly and placing weapons becomes nearly impossible. In a matter of moments you have one or lost and as far as the strategy there-in a coin toss would be as good of a guess for determining effectiveness in that mess.
