I like the game but it is easy to max out your equipment, then just search the cities for mercs with the best stats. It would be nice to have a way to upgrade your main character and/or mercs, smith bonuses into equipment and vessels, hire teams of vessels, or something else to use your vast fortune.
Any my mini recommendation is: (1) Start East Empire (2) build a full army mixed with melee/ranged (3) spend early points boosting Dex and Infantry skills (4) do quests (bandits give best gold) until you can buy a ship and buy/equip the 65dex equip (5) put skills into katana skills (6) buy lots of potions and start taking over small towns - at that point it's only a matter of time until you are unstoppable
caleb, the thing about guillotine blade is that it takes all your SP, so you only get one shot and then have to wait. So for capturing towns, which requires lots of fighting, the other skills are better.
Very cut, fun game but three things are esprately needed. 1. Make the skip button work in the intro. 2. Add a save function. 3. Make it possible to turn off their dialog in the game, i blocks the maze.
varactyl, instead of upgrading several towers, upgrade 1 to level 4 before upgrading any others, and make sure your maze makes the creeps pass that upgraded tower a couple of times for max effect. A level 1 air tower and a level 4 squirt can last you a long time as you build the rest of your maze.
2/5 for potential. A couple of things to work on:
1. Spacial relations are a bit wonky at times (attacking, entering buildings)
2. If mobs regen just by walking off screen, allows for infinite gold.
3. The two hearts you could buy had the same icon and no description of what they did (or what the boots did). An item guide would be nice for the finished game.
4. Nice idea and feel, hope to see an improved version coming out.
I had a lot of fun with this, but as others have noted, it gets a bit laggy in the higher levels. And the cursor can get lost, especially when things start blowing up. And the game seems pretty easy for the first 25ish levels then gets near impossible over a very short number of levels. Balancing it out a bit to be harder early on and scale more linearly would help a bit.
I want this game to be so fun!!!! The next version should have difficulty levels (the current setting could be the nightmare one), and maybe a way other than the shrines to heal after a battle (maybe everyone heals 30-50% of health/power after every battle is completed). But it looks really cool with only a few improvements needed.
The game is fun, but after you've played enough to get a couple $1000 gold, it's way to easy to beat every city with no challenge. Needs to scale with your level for difficulty, or have more levels of city difficulty. Also, an easier inventory system would be very nice and a better way to see your army's stats (including bonuses from your stats). Playability started at 5/5 but ended up 3/5 due to ease and low playability.
I've loaded the game multiple times and I always have 1-2 of the differences on level 1 be the same so I can't get past level 1 (and the differences that are bugged change from one load to another). Needs to be fixed. :(
But when I played the game awhile ago it was fun. Too bad it doesn't limit the number of clicks since you can just randomly click the whole screen to find differences when you get stuck.
The badge definitely isn't as hard as the other "hard" badges. And being able to beat the game w/out losing lives after only a couple of retries makes the replay pretty low. But the second one is a great improvement.
This game is OK, but gets rather boring after awhile. Also, some of the toppings look similar and I had to play through a few times before I figured out what toppings some of the customers were asking for.
