This should be part of a bigger game as to determine an upgrade or something. It's a nice game, but doesn't get appreciated because we don't play for anything, no awesome upgrades or nothing. And since the awesome upgrades defeat the purpose of this game... I'd figure to put it as a game in a game to help you win or upgrade skills since it's brain relative.
5/5 for the game's quality + story. But level 14 made me quit playing entirely. Might even call it a rage quit, the agrivation wasn't worth it. That first upwards section where you have the make it all the way up with out getting hit, then make sure you don't get hit in the next section when you finally agrivatedly get through that section jumping section.... Then to die in the next section or the next saction.... I DON'T WANT TO CLIMB THAT FRIGGIN' SECTION AGAIN!!!! AHHHH!!!!! *Insanity wells* Sooo.... I've decided to quit. Tell me if you fix it.
This is great, definitely merits progression. I think you could make some between games upgrades to make things interesting Plus maybe a start where you lost mechanic?
I'm actually all for this type of difficult transitional game... Repetition till you've got it exactly right, But I also need the perpetual growth theory it's lacking, Adding a theory connected to attribute = number of levels completed would give me the motivation to complete this type of game, because growth of the perpetual kind is always my longing. Best Stencyl Game I've seen, that and his Bat game.
The current background just doesn't make sense with trees that you can go through, I'd suggest a retro background to match the game play effects and music. The screen off set: When I played there was black space under the background above it and to the right, All the statistics as well as your logo and the menu where oriented x/y to the current existing background, but the game space was expanded beyond that. The enemies where spawning there and I could drive there, It makes the game look incomplete along with the background that seems to have no purpose. When you fix those two things The game will feel complete even with the glitches, then you can fix it up with updates to fix those glitches and to maybe make it longer, When you get the game to that completion point I'd be happy to help Identify changes that could be made to make it better. PM me when you've made some changes.
You've got some things that work here, I think you could make this work with a few adjustments.
The bad guys are pretty neat and varied. But first off I'd suggest a background change And to fix the game to fit in the screen bounds.
This is a beautiful game. I can't easily describe what I see here but I'll try. You've made a game that anyone could make to play, But the little piece of soul you've welded it together with and sandwiched it in between has made all the difference, 100%. All the complaints I had had at the beginning, that I was playing with a head rolling around, were solved by later design and that piece of soul: hearing those family members experiencing them translayicly not only in their voice feeling that they are alive but by connecting to them through very specifically relative play stylisis or seeing them through that ball representation how they act and therefore who they are, (Sylisis which in and of themselves makes for an extra ordinary game, and a 5/5 in my book). I hope only to say 'Here, Here!' and ask you to bring a little more of your extra ordinary soul to this world any way you seem fit.
Cheers :) I'm impressed that you went for the coins!
