Very enjoyable little game. How easy it was was a little disconcerting, but I still found the game very, very, very enjoyable. Unable to reskill, at least with the spells, felt a little weird, but that had appeal of it's own as well.
You need a way to quickly command your troops, maybe even pause the game while commands are being given. It's so annoying when you have 9 tropps and you want them to guard the chokepoints but they automatically run after you into a crowd of enemies.
Also, something I find disconcerting - aside from starting the battle on Low HP, there is absolutely no downside to perpetually starving your beasts. And when you have a healing spell you can use at the start of every battle, it kinda incentivizes people to not bother feeding their beasts, which is not how I think the game should be played... or maybe it is, who knows. Capping the max HP in affected battles would be a much better way to get people to feed their beasts.
It just feels so off that I can have 3 heroes, and 1 enemy, but it doesn't matter because each side gets one turn. The one-use only magics are so weird as well, and I can just buy fireballs and spam to win.
The luck of the draw in arranging your formations and in who you fight make it frustrating to tackle the super hard modes. For example, against the mongols, you could fight several waves of 2 militia which your swordsman can solo for free faith, or you could find yourself facing a knight on turn 6.
Absolutely fantastic and fun game. My only beef with it is that the exit button in the upper left corner is also where the Flash Player gives the option to "close Flash" and the number of times I've accidentally clicked it, especially after doing 20+ levels a training...
How you arm your guys, which skills they have, what enchantments their items have, etc all have a huge impact your raiders performance. You can also actively manage a raid or level, especially with the hotkey bar and drastically up the performance of your raiders
Give us the option of visiting places, even if we can't "Activate" them like the Arena (I clicked a Yellow Exclamation mark and was taken out of the Arena before I could take my loot. There should be a dialogue asking if you want to "Go there now" whenever you click the yellow exclamation marks.
