i think, so im just guessing, that thye disappeared becausethey had reached the end of the journey, but instead of the whole "orpheus turning around" thing, and im good withgreek mythology, that it actually went through from the future to the past, like a time convert. when he went to the underworld, it stopped time in its tracks in teh upper world.when he got back nothing had happened in the upper world.
