Great Game! Needs more. I think you should include a tank cannon upgrade like the heavy tank enemies, two shots and longer reload instead of a clip. The flamethrower idea sounds great, make sure to make flamethrower enemies to fight too. Maybe a fast weak enemy like a jeep with a machine gun for next level. I'd also like to see a ruined cityscape level with landmines.
