I encountered an issue. When using an item that can hold things, like the cannon or oven, spawning in another item after that and putting it inside the cannon for example will cause the item to overlap the cannon and show it over it. It still functions properly , just wanted to comment about it.
It's not an issue but a fact of how the rendering works in the game: Items that are spawned last are on top of items spawned before them. You can manage it manually by spawning things in the order you want, or by setting things you want on top of everything to Layer 2 (foreground) via Detail Tool.

So, I was wondering about the way the game works. When you pull up the spawn menu and the items are there for you to see, are the items that with collision off, or is there some sort of layering, or what?
The menu just displays item graphics, and the actual item is only created when you release mouse to spawn it in.

I think a stabbing feature would be interesting. Not an overlapping of layers, but like a carving feature that activates when you thrust something sharp fast enough
