I've noticed that the enemy always does the same thing: They save up a little, and then build a bunch and attack in waves. The waves are always pretty small and often ships will be sent out staggered so that they reach their targets at different times. Once they start attacking, they rarely build past tech level 3. I wish the enemy AI would try a different strategy sometimes.
so yeah, I have a hard time on the enemies... like a really hard time... but the graphics are much better than should be expected from something like this. so I think 3/5 would be appropriate.
Love this game! You have to get the forces, or you will die. That's all there is to it. And for those who didn't notice, the forces are indestructible and when they are release they can ram enemies. Especially helpful when fighting the Dobkeratops at the end. 4/5!
No, no, no, there's a reason for the bad graphics, guys. Its supposed to be from the original R-type game. They've come a long way to the modern R-type Command...
For the Eastern Forest, get a bunch of radio plasmid turrets. They are like machine guns but with higher damage and they all shoot at once. If you have two or three of those you don't need secondary weapons. Also, automatic things you don't have to self-operate are extremely useful. The orbital mines suck, but the airship, decoy drones, and bomb drones are invaluable to an effective defense. I suggest getting decoy drones. First get gun upgrade, then only buy increased number upgrades. By the end of the campaign you could have five or six drones from each drone bay, which can get in places your main weapons can't.
One of those games that I really liked. The autoturrets really do seem like a waste of money, but that was the only issue I had. I really liked the enemy ships. WHERE IS THE SEQUEL? You can't have a "that's another story" ending and then not make a sequel.
I knew as soon as the boy started fading that the ending would be meaningful. Maybe the grave he takes the flower from is his own, and the flower was put there by the girl. It would be a sort of closure, and sort of a way of telling the girl she has to move on and live life to its final conclusion. It was really a beautiful story, I wish more people understood things like that.
I like to conserve cycles until the humans are all dead and the computers are all hacked and then spam the lights to get tons of money. Great way to get those expensive upgrades.
I, for one, did not get stuck on the title thing and so have no idea what anyone is talking about.
I really liked how the game was totally pointless. For some reason I like those kind of things. I also thought it had really good graphics, especially for a pointless game. It'd be cool if you could see the ship though. 4/5
*sigh* Really, I expected better after the first game. This could have been so much better. It wasn't. This game has entirely different mechanics from the first one, which was good and didn't need changing! Graphics schmaphics, it doesn't matter how good they are if you have a lame game.
Tips: For the levels in stage 2, turrets will do you way more good than fighters, except on 2-6. Then you really do need fighters. In the other ones the fighters will just get infected and come back. If you are going to make battlecruisers, you need ALOT. In stage 3, just make turrets and supply docks because the turrets shoot little spores that infect everything. Stage 3 is WAY TOO EASY.
OMFG THE NEW SERVER SUCKS SO BAD YOU CAN'T LOOK AT MODELS YOU CAN'T MAKE THEM EITHER! I had some really cool stuff! Alot of people had really cool stuff! And now the whole thing is ruined. Gone forever. Replaced with this piece of crud. This game really sucks.
Any criticizers are nuts. This game is epic. The ship designs are really cool. The story is intreguing. They should make a sequel, though. Heres the plan: Put some flaks in the front. Upgrade drones as much as you can. Get as many fighters as you can, they take care of small ships. Get rocket turrets too. Then you max out the ultragun, which is most effective for capital ships.
