It's a decent game, but boring. I'm blowing stuff up before it even makes it onto the screen. On top of that, the button to send the next wave now doesn't actually do anything. At least if that button worked I could increase the challenge by sending multiple waves at a time.
More than a speed button it needs a "next wave" button, or at least more intelligent wave sending. Sitting there twiddling your thumbs for 10mins with absolutely nothing going on (the previous wave is finished, you've bought/upgraded everything you can) waiting for the next damned wave to start sucks beyond belief.
The cannon upgrades are also useful, and the gun is quite useful too. You just need to use the gun properly. If you shoot grandpa on the downstroke, he'll launch way back up, vastly increasing airtime & distance. The upgrades are extremely expensive though (especially the last gun & cannon ones), and there definitely needs to be more high altitude stuff to hit & bounce off of.
Very good game, especially for a first game. The phaser & dazzler towers need work though (especially the dazzler one). Despite the range & power, the dazzler tower is so extremely slow that it's almost completely useless, you're lucky if it hits 1 out of every 20 bugs. The phaser tower is somewhat better, but still needs improving. The other 4 towers are fine though. The bluster tower is good for getting off the ground, then the pulse & frost towers are king, with the plasma tower adding a little extra oomph for the tough bugs.
A game should be challenging, but not friggin impossible. The difficulty of this game is just way too damned high. The fact that you have to re-purchase armor & troops every time you fail a mission (even though you only earn a fraction of what you spent on said items originally, and were unable to beat the level even -with- them)makes the situation 10x worse.
Lame ending. The freeze cannonis actually useful, but the key is to never use it manually. Upgrade your main cannon first, then get the freeze cannon & the autofire upgrade, then just let it do it's thing while you kick some ass with the main cannon.
ok... this is friggin weird. I played for a while, got the nitro gun, couldn't select the normal gun again, tried reloading the game, still couldn't select the normal gun. Reloaded the game again, but chose to start a new game this time. The net result of all that was that I kept repeating lvl 1 in the new game. I would beat it, but at the end of the level instead of saying "nightmare 1: + $400", it just said "nightmare:nightmare". Thanks to the fact that lvl 1 includes a wakeup box though, I was able to reach the end of the game in only 10 easy rounds. The drawback though was that with only $150 per round, I wasn't able to buy that strong will power up first. This game is extremely buggy & should be marked as being alpha.
[BUG] There's a glitch with the super tower's final upgrade. When it's at level 4 it says "$0" to upgrade to level 5. You can then upgrade to level 5 regardless of how much money you have. BUT as soon as you do, you cash goes to $0 & you don't gain any more money for the rest of the round.
The messages about the round starting & the ending bonus for each round stay in your face, blocking your view of the map, way too long, and the "next round" button really should not be disabled while the bonus message is on the screen. Other than that, it's a good game.
Those damned popups are wretched and inexcusable. They are among the most aggravating things I have ever encountered. They seriously make me want to wring your neck, and they make the game virtually unplayable.
Man... that is just plain retarded. After 45 or so rounds of insanely easy, all my towers vanish & it won't even let me build new ones. Difficulty is supposed to step up gradually, not jump from simplistic to impossible in one leap!
One minor bug + one oversight = one MAJOR bug. You can't place a tower over the graphics quality button, plus you can't cancel a tower purchase. If you've already built everywhere else & try to place a tower where the quality button is (because the game THINKS you can), you're screwed. Aside from that, this is a good effort. Make it so the towers can be upgraded, reduce the prize money, and make it so that the cheap tower isn't completely useless (the $400 tower costs exactly twice as much, yet fires exactly twice as fast, while doing identical damage per shot. On top of that, it has almost double the range), and you'll have a very good game.
Horrible game. The towers don't do jack, there's no indicator of how much cash you have to build with, you can't build more towers because the existing towers can't kill anything to earn you more cash. It appears that you start out with $250, enough to build 1 virus & then either 1 fire tower or 2 shock towers. Once you've done that, all you can do is twiddle your thumbs until you die.
Lame. Spending an eternity tossing harmless toothpick at the enemy castle, while he sends hordes of soldiers & big bombs at you is not exactly my idea of fun. Being so lazy that you fill the instructions field on this page with "instructions in game" is also megafail.
In addition to the lack of mud & grenades previously mentioned, I found 2 more bugs: 1) You can place towers directly on top of one another. 2) In level 16, I blew up 1 tank & then the second one drove straight across the top of the screen. It ignored the road path & my towers ignored it.
