My experience with video games began before I can even remember with an Atari 2600. I still have extremely faint memories of playing it at an age in which I was unable to form coherent sentences. Unfortunately my mother sold the Atari 2600 and all the games for it before I was even 5 years old so I didnโ€™t get to have much time with video games until a little later in my life. That time came during the heated war between the Sega Genesis and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. And what system was I asking my parents for? The Sega Genesis! In 1994, my dad brought home a Sega Genesis version 2 with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 included. And you can bet that me and my sister played the hell out of that Sega Genesis all the way up til 2008 when it finally stopped working (however I recently bought another Genesis v2 and a Genesis v3 as a backup along with a large collection of games). Although we were still playing our beloved Genesis, we did need something a little more advanced. I personally was completely fine with having just a Genesis but my sister was really keen to getting a Playstation. So one easter morning, instead of finding a bunch of stupid eggs we found a Playstation! It was quite a good time for us both until I later discovered that Sega was making another console called The Dreamcast and we already had just gotten a console. So the young me was no longer very pleased with having a Playstation and hoped for the day that a Dreamcast would appear one morning. That day never came. Instead, there was a day in which an Xbox appeared. And with that Xbox, came Halo. This was when I really started referring to myself as a gamer, mainly because now all I ever did was stay at home and play xbox (or go other places to play xbox). I was completely hooked and I didnโ€™t think I would ever see anything this good ever again. BUT THEN!!!! A miracle happened! There was talk that Nintendo had some new amazing console that was all about playing games by moving. I thought โ€œwow this sounds too good to be true, a motion based consoleโ€. And like most things that sound too good to be true, it wasnโ€™t true. I later sold my Wii after a few years of use and used the store credit to increase my growing collection of Sega Genesis games. Nowadays I mainly focus on classic games and rpgโ€™s but still find enjoyment in all genres of games new and old (except for the sport ones >.>).
