u should make a save before taking planets, then evaluate if it was worth it. By what u say i would just hold a while longer, i only fight if my fleet is strong enough to survive the battle (no more then some 10% to 15% casualties) as an example, in my last battle i had 20M ark55 and lost 1.2M
