Mainly a desktop user, this new kong layout will take some adjustment. I miss the convenient Discord chat pop-out next to the game, you could see live help requests without having to switch to the Discord app. One nice improvement is the high score now extends past Top 100, you can now see all active daily players and easily add people without having to copy/paste the username.
For some reason, the music reminds me of Pokemon A LOT and it's bringing back warm fuzzy childhood memories of playing my Gameboy late at night under the blankets when I was supposed to be asleep.
Huh. When you jump up to a platform and land perfectly (all rise, no fall), it doesn't register damage but it also doesn't allow you to jump again. I feel like you should get a bonus for perfect jumps or at least allow the player to jump again.
After upgrading everything and reaching 100% happiness, I decided to follow one of my citizens. Apparently, in this society, the 3 year old toddlers go to school in the morning and clubbing at night. XD
I have no clue how the star rating works. I just finished a level with 0 deaths, had 10 out of 20 total team kills, and 2 bonuses... yet it gives me one measly star?
The other comments were right. Level 7: Super Easy, Level 8: High Difficulty, Level 9: Insane Mode. Why do the vehicles suddenly get heavier and laggier, even the light cop cars from previous levels? ----- For anyone who wants the hard badge: Holding a vehicle slightly bottom left of the nest will shield all bullets. Wait for a lot of people to group together right under the nest, then drop it straight down so that they fly straight into the nest. It's the fastest way to get combos and finish a level ASAP.
Thank you developer or whoever fixed this game! It works for me now. I couldn't get the badges on this game for the longest time because of broken lag.
Poor game design. Besides the "Batties" upgrade and the "Passive Upgrades" you unlock at later levels, every single one of these upgrade is either useless or actively harmful. The "Bat-gang" is the worst of these. Why spend stars on something that slows me down and causes me to fall faster 80% of the time? ----- Then there's the kicker upgrade: if your current kicker is upgraded to the max, buying a new kicker actually DOWNGRADES your stats. You might as well just save up for the most expensive one and upgrade that.
Wish an upgrade could speed up these idiot customers taking half an hour describe how they want an oreo, a cherry, and an oreo THEN take another half hour to appraise the same damn sundae that they've ordered for past 2 weeks! Meanwhile my two other orders are getting over-mixed. I swear... if it weren't for the badge quest, I'd avoid these Papa X-eria games like the plague.
Only 4,700/134,647 = 3.5% of people beat this game the honest way. The extreme random attack is straightforward and only takes a few tries, if you've beaten the game without shortcut/walkthroughs. I cheated the first time I played this game in 2009, but I finally earned the last hard badge. Feels good.
Usually not into strategy, but I'm obsessed with this game. It's fun reverse engineering how the AI prioritizes. Once you understand it, you can fool it into sacrificing huge armies. Finally beat Europe and the Crazy Challenge this way. The AI is easily tempted to attack an army of 1. So start every round by surging those weak territories with an army 2x the AI's potential attack then, stall until the AI attacks first. The AI loses their entire army and you only lose ~10-20% of yours. Then, your last order attacks its remaining army of 1 with the other surrounding armies. Repeat enough times and you can chip away at even the strongest enemies.
TIPS: Refresh map until you get forest cross (+), three-sided rock formation (U), and VERY IMPORTANT: tree roots next to at least one forest. These are all best close to the center. Water tiles are useless; they're best on the far edges, first to be taken by darkness.
START: Get the Tower of Light (Level 2) and Lighthouse ASAP. Get Tower of Water and MAX upgrade everything inside inner three rings (7x7 square). Knock back the darkness with Stone Circle Level 1. Get Level 4 Tree Roots and its adjacent Forest. Upgrade that Forest to Potion Factory. This will 2X, then 3X speed ALL your wood and rock production and push back darkness continually. You'll have more than enough resources to stop the darkness.
@Im_awesome04 Same thing happened to me. I managed to replicate it. It seems like if you take 2 or more sharp turns, one *immediately* after the other, the game is unable to load new obstacles or turns. The short straight tunnel kept resetting and I basically went from 600 to 1267 without moving my mouse. I'm not complaining though... easiest hard badge ever.
If you're working on the hard badge, don't be discouraged. It's partly luck-based. I played multiple times, collecting ~75-80% of the shapes, only to get 3,500,000 points at max. Played one last time, collected 83% of the shapes, and I easily got 6,300,000 points. Getting multipliers earlier (especially Yellow Madness) makes a huge difference.
Came for the puzzles. Stayed for the thrilling story. The comments seem split, either people love it or hate it. I guess it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's MY cup of tea and I want to drink more! Chapter 17 left me on a cliffhanger and I'm way too invested in this story. Please finish it.
Glad you liked it! I'm working hard on Arc 2, so please look forward to that.
In the meantime, I'd recommend following the game on social to stay in the know or dropping by the Discord channel to pick up on any secrets you may have missed!
Great game. I got the dragon ending, but I can't seem to get the boat ending. I have everything except for the pumpkin which I've never encountered. There are also two giant stone statues underneath the fire chickens which I can't activate, even with the dragon.
Oh thanks for reporting it, it is a bug! (:
