Building your own space ships full of weapons and gadgets, and destroying the ecosystems of far away planets ; what could wrong ?
As it turns out, pretty much everything : little to no control on your ship's movements, no aiming or even targeting priorities (several guns shooting the same weak enemy and letting the big guy behind clear), a ridiculous wave system (let me explore goddammit), a total lack of imagination in the levels (bosses and enemies are just slight variations of each other, the layout is always linear), limiting upgrade system, weak and useless weapon crafting, no weapon balancing, and bugs (the upgrade you choose isn't always the one you receive, same for crystals).
All in all, promising setting but horribly executed.
Pro Tip : don't bother staying on the track or passing the checkpoint "doors" driving off road and driving close to the checkpoints works wonder and allows you to avoid the retarded AI.
I don't get the hate about Tornado. If you understand that you actually have to aim it at the enemy units with your mouse, then you can clearly see it damage them. Tsunami on the other hand does seem to do little damage in comparison, I wouldn't bother using it.
Translating the setting from modern day to the medieval age was a good... (•_•). ( •_•)>⌐■-■. (⌐■_■) ...decision.
Stupid meme aside, great and polished game as always.
@ryanmercury : you can now upgrade and downgrade any item at will so long as you bought an upgrade for it ; your problem probably comes from the fact that all items were put at the minimum level. You don't lose the upgrade but just need to click on the little '+' to put it back to maximum. Look at an item in the store, a red bar = upgrade not bought, blue bar = upgrade bought but not equipped, green bar = upgrade equipped.
a little tip for people that lose a combo when jumping : hitting down while in air allows you to fall to the ground almost immediately. Although you need to be careful as it can propel you in the hole you were trying to avoid, it can also save your combo on a lot of occasions.
@Blazer205 : keep trying, all the missions are doable ; yes you fail the missions if you're last, but with a little luck, you'll always find a dumb opponent crashing like a retard, and provided you're not horrible at this game, you'll end up succeeding
Remove the damn camera swaying or add an option to do so cause it adds nothing except nausea. And just like one of your previous racing game, the turns are handled weirdly, where suddenly the car turns by itself to stay on the road and sometimes throws you offroad. Annoying.
Do not buy the SPEED BONUS accessory upgrade until AFTER you finish the corresonding quest (and there's quests for it in the survival too). It'll make completing them a lot more easy.
What a disappointment. The platform part is horrible with all the unconsistently sticky walls, the jump you can't even control (ie the more you press, the higher you jump). The fighting part is equally bad, with useless combo (don't try to chain attacks, you'll move towards the enemies and become unable to hit them properly), a weapon that doesn't really improve and boring enemies. The level design favors backtracking a little too much and with nothing hidden and nothing to collect, there's a huge potential wasted.
Unless you're here for the badges, I recommend playing an older but way better game in the same genre : EBF : Adventure Story. It's basically what this game should have been (and you can fully customize your controls).
IMHO, no amount of absurd and giraffe can make up for all the missed opportunities.
@Cennetessimus : the game stats for the special levels are already here. See the "1-2" in the top left corner of the level list ? You can change page with it, the special levels are on page 2.
Worst. Level design. Ever. The game premise is fight to get Rage, and when you get it, keep fighting to conserve it. The problem is how the game keeps sending you to the end of the level to get a key to unlock a spring at the beginning of the same level, spring that propels you to another key that unlocks a door at the end of the level... I spent most of my time running and jumping and watching my rage depletes because I had no one to kill on these useless back and forth trips. I'd rather have linear levels choke full of enemies and occasionnal hidden things rather than obligatory and boring round-trips.
Wayt too much problems in this game for me to enjoy it. You can get stuck on so many spots on the ground leaving you no choice but to restart the level. The sounds, for the most part, are way too saturated to be bearable, it's the only thing that made me cringed. Also, is our character a car ? Why does he have to accelerate ? It's the first top-down shooter game where I see a character accelerating, and frankly, it's just ridiculous. Changing weapons takes way too long, shortcuts are needed. I seriously love top-down shooter, and this one have a great potential, but it clearly needs more polishing. ----- ps : you know this game is set in the future, tables can go through walls !
@venturesome : for the mission 19 (and almost any other mission for that matters) go with your spy first, rescue all the civilians/VIP, collect the stars in your reach, take out silly soldiers turning your back on you, hide your spy and then destroy everything with whatever other unit you have. Easy as pie.
A customer enters in a shop full of clothes, potions and herbs and ask for a weapon. It's already extremely stupid, but when you can't fulfill his nonsensical desires and suggest him something that you DO have for sale, the guy rage at you ? Wow. Dude open your f***ing eyes, what I have for sale is right in front of you. Don't waste my time asking for something I don't have, or at least be comprehensive when I don't have it. F***tard.
@MusicxxAddicted : comments like yours make me so pessimistic about mankind's fate. Should you take the time to read the game's description, the developer himself clearly states the game is a "Zelda-like adventure game". Should you play the game you would notice how different enough from any 2D Zelda games it is not to be called a rip off. Can science hurry up and invent the ePunch already, some people are in dire need of "help".
The 3 different keyboards options is enough to earn a 5/5 from me. Why can't all developers understand thatt issue and deal with it with as much class as cuaticgames.
Of course, even without that, the game deservers a high rating.
