I really don't know what to think about bonte's games. I suck at most of them, but that isn't the reason to rate them poorly. They all quite well done, if rather simplistic in design. Anyways the games are well-made, instead of just some stick-figures done with paint and that always deserves at least 3/5.
It kinda feels like a kids version of Thing Thing Arena. Crude looking but still kinda fun... however as with all the games with infinite enemies: it gets boring at some point. Plus there's no achievements :( Still 3/5
I suck at this game. I suck at fighting games in general. That's no reason to rate it poorly though. The game is quite well done. It's just not my "cup of tea".
This reminds me of Frantic. It is kinda short.. or long, depending how you look at it. Personally I don't like my shooters this "colorful". The sounds sounded like from some Megaman-games, which probably isn't a coincidence.
It's a real shame the achievements are locked on the kong version. I like the game so much so I actually went to NinjaKiwi to play it... having them on adds a whole new layer to the game plus a lot more playing hours.
Pistol is surprisingly good, even though you gotta click like hell it gets the job done. Shotgun is a big disappointment, with delay between shots so ridicilously long it sure doesn't work so well against a bigger bunch. So much for the "crowd pleaser". I did discover that switching between another weapon and back again to shotgun resets the delay, but it's so painfully ardous to do plus I consider it cheating.
The game is more forgiving and easier than Amorphous+, which is definetly a good thing. You can see the achievements beforehand so you'll know what you're gonna be aiming for. Even though random experimenting in Amorphous+ definetly had it's charms it became rather tedious after awhile so in the end you'll just end looking up the remaining few from somwhere. Also you actually got health bar that allows you take about four hits or so before you bite the dust which makes it all more tolerable. And of course ranged combat tends to be easier than melee. Add some nice techn music to backgroun, relatively smooth controls a bunch of upgrades and it's very solid contender. Nothing mind-blowing but very good game nonetheless. 4/5
With the game beaten with only the first two units and the first turret, both fully upgraded, it's another fine example that quantity always beats quality.
Even though the larger 20x20 puzzles are quite tough it's a nice way to spend a lot of time. Sure you have to make with some "educated guesses" here and there but in a strange way it's very rewarding when you get it right. The music is awesome and also helps to cope with frustration.
So cute. Some errors are a bit hard to find but since there's no time limit, it's not a problem. And I love the "Yay!"shout. It's a cute version of the 5 Diffrences.
