This game is the clearest example of a skinner box.
You must devote several hours a day of mindless grinding so you can obtain the highest tier of equipment just in time before a new tier comes out. It is grossly pay-to-win and the price is very high.
I genuinely feel bad for those who are stuck due to sunken cost and keep devoting time and money to be kept in their guild or just stay as a relevant ally to their friends. This sunken cost plays a big part in retention as even those who do not spend money here feel obligated to continue the most skill-less grind but that still requires attention unlike idle games. This almost feels like a maliciously elaborated "game" where the more you play, the worse off you are left.
Play it if you like, but remember my words a month into the future or ask players who have unlocked the latest raid to verify what I am warning any new players of with this message.
The only aspect I have ever found fun was the real-time duels (pvp is just against a dumb ai controlling your opponent) and this aspect of the game isn't used as much either.
You could argue you can have fun with long-term equipment planning but the vast majority of the improvement comes from having a higher tier of stat-giving equipment, a more rare accessory/pet; same issue with mounts, familiars, runes, enchants and whatever else they decide the game with next, anything else beside this type of linear material upgrade is absolutely negligible on a realistic scale. (realistic, referring to not spending hundreds of dollars) Another aspect you could argue to find fun (if you were a sociopath, that is) in how everyone requires to be on one of the limited friend spots the big cash spenders have in order to complete raids reliably.
I used to be the highest hp player for an entire month. I have come back after a long time even after switching accounts just to express my regret.
It currently isn't used for anything. It's just an amount to "bet" with. But in the future it could turn into something... Thanks for checking out the game!
