I revise my first impression; it's not all that bad. But the combat, weight, and craft system are seriously clunky, and there are other things that need improvements as well.
Trying to keep on top of the money and reputation makes the game so busy that I didn't have any time to admire or keep track of my hybrids! It needs a bit more slack, I think.
To add to some of the advice (much of which I agree with), I'd say make it impossible to buy or pick up a potion you already have. A little more descriptiveness for the recipes and their results, during both buying and making, would also be appreciated. I still love the game though!
The controls are so sticky and clunky, the interface so tangled, and the advice so worthless, that I don't know why I played as long as I did. The concept is really intriguing, but ends up feeling like a cheap, overcomplicated RPG cookie cutter.
I like the combat style, and the game as a whole is pretty interesting. The pauses between completing a level and leaving it are a bit weird, and the dialogue's kind of slow. My main issue is that a fully-upgraded, level 8 Erica was less useful than a first level Ray (who's no prize himself). She is literally most useful when being injured to spike the super meter. Other than that, the game mechanics are a lot of fun.
