Perhaps the game has been updated since these comments complaining about pro mode were posted, but I found pro to be fairly straightforward. If I was off by a small amount, the game adjusted for me. Gandhi wasn't upright, so the game moved him 15 degrees for me. My stars weren't perfect on Bart Simpson, but the game took it anyway. It's not as bad as top commenters make it seem.
Well, the game does have some short explanation for it, but in general, hiragana is used to write native Japanese words (alongside with kanji), for example "kotoba" (meaning: word, hiragana: ことば, or kanji: 言葉), while katakana is used to write loan words, for example "kamera" (meaning: camera, katakana: カメラ). So for instance, if you are to transcribe your name into Japanese, it would be written in katakana. But if you are to read some Japanese text, you will likely see more hiragana than katakana, so it is usually advised to learn hiragana first.
The game glitched at the end of the lava level. I couldn't move at all and when enemies attacked, they did no damage. I couldn't do anything, other than restart. It's disheartening knowing I was so close to getting the hard badge. =(
Do you have enough resources? How about enough land? if the answer to both of these is yes, what version are you playing? There have been several updates since that was fixed, and if you havent reset since then, it may be about time for you to do so. Apologies for the inconvenience.
