A lot of fun, but I'm having a lot of problems with the controls. Selecting units manually is a painful affair, I'd like it if you could "add" another unit to an already selected group by holding shift for example, like so many other RTS games. Also it's hard to actually click on a person to attack them, half the time all my units try to move to where the target was rather than attacking the target.
This is a lot of fun - reminds me a lot of Lufia II's Ancient Cave side game (I spent dozens upon dozens of hours on that!), of which I'd wager this is inspired by a lot. I really had a good time with this.
Would be a half decent game if the game-breaking glitch was fixed. Like so many others, I have a few zombies that appear stuck under the map and the level won't end.
I'll agree with those who say that this has the potential of being very fun, but was executed poorly. You get used to the clunkiness of the controls, but it takes a while. The jungle level was especially frustrating with not being able to see through trees, and some of the quests are silly - getting a total of 35 ice shards? I've done all the other glacier ridge quests and only got 4 shards so far. The whole magic system should also be reworked. Also I haven't seen this mentioned in last few pages, but the MISSES are a bit silly - I'm level 25 with all the best equipment and still miss about half of my attacks. Getting freeze locked to death was also particularly frustrating. I played through it all and give it a 3/5.
Gave this 3/5. Kept me entertained during a slow day at work, but it's a bit too plain other than the Mega Tower mechanic. The "Crippleware" mentioned is really not the end of the world, those levels are more for novelty and don't feel really part of the level progression.
3/5 down from 5/5 due to game breaking bugs, including
-my guy falling under the ground or becoming invisible
-menu or inventory getting stuck open, and can't close it so i have to reload the game
-attack button getting stuck so that i can't attack
-spell animation jamming so i can't attack
-movement keys not responding
Also those of you asking what Codex #X is all the time, you can check the Walkthrough http://titch007uk.newgrounds.com/news/post/408038
The guy is missing some stuff, but all the Codex entries are there
I enjoyed this, my main complaint being the slippery controls, and I would have preferred to have some sort of map. I certainly look forward to what comes out of the 100% "prize", it has that Metroid feel to it.
Far too dependent on luck - at the very least there should be a checkpoint when you get to a new tier in the levels, and you should be allowed to flip pieces at will. As it is, you just have to get luck with drops.
Really fun. Although I didn't think the "get 50 deaths" achievement was a good idea. I had all the other achievements in the game before getting 10 deaths, so now I have to load up and kill myself 40+ times to get the hard badge.
