it really is a shame about the saving problem, but if you manage to get around it (there are ways, check the forums) this game is amazingly deep with a HUGE amount of content, 5/5 (i await chapter 3 with bated breath)
oh my god, the final boss is so easy, his attack cycle: top, bottom, top, bottom, top, bottom, top, bottom, top, bottom... (do i need to go on or do you get the picture yet)
The only problem with it is that once a lot of objects start appearing at once, the game starts lagging and the controls aren't responsive anymore, I've had at least 8 occasions where I pressed the button to turn but nothing happened because i hit it mid lag.
Not a bad game, but I agree that the battle mode has WAY too much luck involved. In order to beat it your attacks HAVE to do do the high end of their potential damage much of the time and no amount of planning or skill can improve that.
