for a right triangle with sides a b and c, c being the hypoteneuse,
c=(1/2(c-b))a^2+0.5(c-b)
b=(1/2(c-b))a^2-0.5(c-b)
using this, you can determine what the other sides are only by knowing what one side is and the difference between c and b
for example, if c-b is 1, many possible answers could come up.
like 3.5 and 4.5 or 5.67 and 6.67
knowing that a^2 + b^2 = c^2, we know that is a is 3, b and c must be 4 and 5 respectively because 3^2 + 4^2 = 5^2 and if a is 5 then b and c must be 12 and 13 respectively. The equation I came up with is in my opinion, the easiest way to find sides of a triangle.
Note: if a side comes up negative, then you can use the absolute value of the negative side to make another valid right triangle.
