Prologue:…………… It was April 6th, 1944. I remember it like yesterday. It was awful. People flyin in the air from grenades, people laying dead with there legs gone. And people dying in front of you, telling you to tell there wives they love them. It was the saddest thing that’s ever happened to me. It was D-day and I didn’t think it was this bad. This is my story of which I lived through D-day and the end of the last Great War………..

Chapter 1: The Ride:…………

It was March 30th 1944. Me and over 10 thousand or more troops from my camp in West Virginia were leaving to go to a base a couple of miles of the coast of France. We didn’t know why or where we were going when we got there. It was scary for me. I was only 19 at the time and I just got out of boot camp. And I was getting shipped of already.
