Lags on my Core 2 Duo E6850 w/ 2GB RAM?! Very poorly designed game. There are plenty of other flash games with more detailed graphics and animations that don't require any special settings.
Great concept, needs some balance tweaks. Enemies should not be able to spawn on top of you, the "pips" should get pulled towards your ship from a greater distance, and completely rework the health system.
People who complain about WASD probably don't have W, A, S, and D in the same spots as you. Not everyone has a QWERTY keyboard. Don't call them whiners, they truly can't play the game because the movement keys are all over the place.
Cool game idea. Could use a little work. 1) It's too hard to see what's shooting at you. 2) The graphics run smoothly, but are very pixelated. Everything sort of blends together except for the bright blue water.
... is about "knowing when to take the points and when to take a chance". Bull. That you have buttons to click on is just hiding the fact that you actually have no control over the results of the game. If the game decides that it's time for the CPU to roll 1-2-3-4-5-6 *three* times in a row, then it's going to happen and there's nothing you can do about it. This game gets 1 star and if I could vote zero, I would.
This is silly. The "puzzles" come down to guessing until you accidentally get it right. Puzzle games can be challenging without being obfuscated and confusing. 2/5.
Finished the game, 250778282 points. I don't know where to begin about this fantastic game. The fact that someone was able to program a bullet-curtain style shooter in flash without massive slowdown is amazing in its own right, let alone it being a fun game. Most everything about the game is just right. The graphics are simple and pleasing to the eyes. Mouse controls are spot-on. Upgrades are strategically interesting, except auto-repair, which I found a waste of an inventory slot (thank goodness for a 'sell' option!). There were some minor issues I hope to see resolved in Frantic 2. First, there is a collision problem where bullets pass right by smaller enemies without ever hitting them. Secondly, the game is a bit easy. I was able to beat the game in my first try, and in scrolling shooter standards, that's way too easy.
Very cool concept! Now you just need to take this idea and combine it with different kinds of mini games and have them switch around. That would be frustratingly fun.
Nice graphics. Controls are responsive. The game is a bit confusing at first, but it just takes a little practice. Big negative for the seemingly unkillable white orbs that appear after 4 or 5 enemy upgrades. With some tweaking I'm sure they could be challenging without being annoying. Overall a good game that could use some improvements.
