I liked the game. Shame it was so easy to complete, at least so far. I had hoped for some real chalenges, or maybe to see some "self made code" in action. Maybe in a future release, eh?
I love this game and the concept. A couple of levels were a bit frustrating to clear though, but not so much that it was "impossible" save the obsessive. Still... I can't help but feel that something was missing after completing it, though I can't put my finger on what it could be. I cleared all rooms, and unfortunately I am not motivated to level myself farther to get the last remaining costumes. Maybe that means that this game lacks replay value. Though I definitely wouldn't object to a sequel. Maybe you'll have solved the "whatever's missing" by that time, eh? For now... 4/5 because of the lack of replay value.
To put it simple: I love this game. It combines a bunch elements that I love in a game. It has RPG elements, a simple but strategic combat system, good music and decent graphics. I particularly love that each mech has it's own theme of combat. Though one thing is a shame: unlike the interchangeable pilots, the parts that you previously purchased and are weaker than an upgraded version are forever lost. I would like to see a mech that can equip these older parts to save some time with buying upgrades. Maybe a mech that can equip all previously purchased weapons, at the expense of stats or power? Or maybe rather an energy penalty. All in all a great game. I can't wait to see what it will turn into eventually.
(part 2) One of my largest concerns is the "you'll find out somehow" nature of the game. There's barely any explanation on anything. Example: "Just pick a class. Here's some stats. What does the class do? You'll find out." Finally.... there's popups that should be removed, like "upgrade your town!" and "click this to upgrade the skill you don't want!", and you should add some as well, like "are you sure you want to use your free skill reset?" (I lost mine because of an accidental click, right at the beginning of the game, and you can't even reset your account...) Other issues I have are adressed by other people. Anyway, this is not complaining about the game. It has great potential in my opinion. I'll definitely stick around to see if this games will get better.
(pasrt 1) I really love this game. Unfortunately, for just about any plus side this game has, I can immediately counter it with a downside. A few examples: The combat system requires very little time and attention from the player... but you cannot control combat flow too much - So many times do I bring three healer friends that all heal when you're full, and refuse to heal when you're all about to die. Some more control of your allies, or at least smarter friends would be nice. I love the crafting system.... but you need ingredients that randomly spawn (or frequently don't spawn) in shops or from dungeons and can run behind dramatically in crafting options vs. your level. There's more of these paradoxes, but I'll leave it at this... you probably get my point.
I've been liking this game every since I discovered it a handful of days ago. I'm mostly impressed by the nearly perfect combination of idle gaming and interaction, and I am very pleased that the developer listens to user feedback, and adds more and more features to keep us engaged.
However... one thing kind of annoys me. You allow people to save filters and export save games, but you do not implant skill selection saving, automatic muting or auto-craft activated by default. Am I the only one who is tired of constantly enabling these when my browser crashes or I need to refresh? I have actually forgotten this, and found out my character had barely made any progress after I returned a couple of hours later.
I was greatly impressed by the demo of this game. It combines two of my favorite game elements: story driven RPGs and TD games. So I purchased the full game, and I believe it's fully worth it. Also, the people of LevelUpLabs have excelent customer support, and I've seen a lot of companies that do worse in that field. All of these elements combined with the great gaming experience... I really have no choice to rate this game with 5.
You should update your FAQ to include x64 systems. They should make the mms.cfg file in the windows\sysWOW64 directory. Not sure whether or not it was that directory (I think so) or in \macromed\flash from there. I put the file in both of the folders, to be safe.
Anyway, I like this idle game, with slightly more interaction than usual, and a lot more customization options than usual, while still staying mostly an idle game. My favorite idle game so far. Well done. Although... some improvements would be nice. Like the ability to seperate crafting mats from common drops, or perhaps even a filter for item types altogether. And perhaps a speedup here and there would work too. Oh... and perhaps you should consider changing the color to black/white while in the spirit realm? Keep up the good work.
I like the music and graphics, though the letters are a bit too small for my eyes, and I can't zoom in on the game. It's also fairly challenging, which can be frustrating, especially if you die when you bought an item you really wanted, and you lose it and can't buy it again, because the shop randomizes. And then there's the continuous random combat freezes during combat that also frustrate the hell out of me, since exiting costs you're forced to reload the page to resolve it. Just this annoyance is enough to lower the rank to 3/5, and the inability to save your equipment properly means 2/5 for me. Work out these things, and I'd enjoy the game far more. I'd not make it a 5/5, but it could definitely be worth a well earnt 4/5
I like this game. Great music and voice acting, as well as graphics, and very challenging on top of that. A rare 5/5 from me. But, erm.. am I the only one that consistently misses about a third, maybe more, from the right side of the screen?
No money magnet is fairly annoying to me, and getting robbed of all your crystals when you die because you get 5 spawns on top of you at the end of the level is very harsh. All of that makes this game progress really slowly, and I end up grinding lower levels far too much. Great music and nice gameplay otherwise, but until I see some improvements, I can't go higher than a 3/5
For those that are interested, I finally completed my second composition "Simple Fun", after playing around with the program for a few months (just for the heck of it). It took me a couple of days to get it to sound naturally. I'd post it here, but it's very large, probably three or four comments. Find it on my homepage... I actually had many ideas in the meantime, but without rhythm (or time scaling) or the option to time notes more accurately, those projects are dead in the water.... until a POM3 gets released, which I hope will happen. This is by far the best flash based music program and sequencer I've come across.
As for the updated composition... This second version of punk-o-matic is slightly harder to use, but I love the new samples and options that are available. I was already impressed by the original game, but this is more than I had wished for in a sequal. I updated my favorite composition of part one to include a baseline; I'm glad you could import your track from the old version and get higher quality sound as a reward. I'm rating this my rare 5/5.
Hmmm... I really don't understand why this game has such a low average rating. The storyline is pretty good, the music is nice, although a bit repeatative, and the combat system is better than many other flash games I've played. I see a lot of comments about the enemies being overpowering, but I think challenging is more fitting. With the right formation and a bit of patience, you can pretty much beat everything without too much effort, as long as you don't rush. I'll give it a (for me) rare 5/5. With more skills and a bit of polishing, the second game will be awesome, which I'll look forward to. Definitely one of the better flash games I've played.
lol I couldn't encounter that cow king, but after I posted that comment and took a short break, I got him three battles in a row... he was fun, but I now know that 2000 or so HP might be a bit too low for comfort. Glad I just spent 50k on intelligence potions... Just five.. more to go... darn legendaries and champions...
Gawd, this game makes me feel old... I actually remember playing this kind of RPG. lol And with my PC as anchient as me, I'm glad to find a game I can run at full speed. Anyway, nice and simple, easy, yet challenging... very addictive, and I spent a great deal of fun time on it. Great story, I enjoyed reading it, as well as the many funny references (especially the one where you got back the book ... I feel questmaster's anger, trust me). My one big downside is music... I don;t mind graphics, because that's not what an RPG is about. Music, however, has some importance to me, and the same song over and over get's anoying. Maybe in part two, you'll allow people to choose a track, or maybe enritch the game with atmospheric music? That's the only reason you got 4/5, but I'm still impressed. Anyway,I have cows to beat, and achievemeents to, erm... achieve (sorry if I left typos, but my keyboard's backspace doesn't work when I'm lazy)
Sorry programming is too easy for you. (secretly my goal all along :P) I'll work on those updates.
