If you find yourself short of Building Supplies to upgrade your village and you still stink at fighting, work as a Builder.
The bonus for seven out of seven "good" days is a cash bonus and a random amount of those ever-so-handy Building Supplies.
Working for a living....
Pick something and do it until you can get the cash bonus every time. You'll learn the skill whether or not you get paid, but in the beginning getting paid is at least as important as skill and stat increases.
The best extra Rest area to find is the Forest. Resting there gives you Stat boosts and pumps your Charm up. Charm saves you a lot of money when it comes to training.
The others are good too, but harder and more dangerous to find. If you find the Forest, you can probably do without the others until you can afford to waste time looking for them.
Correction for enchanting items.
That's eighteen(!) weeks spent per item enchanted. 12 weeks to succeed and 6 weeks to rest up.
Four months - and that's after you max everything out and have piles of cash on hand. Don't make an item when you are cash poor - it's often throwing your money away.
Use the Librarian job instead of the Apprentice job to raise the Enchantment stat.
Librarian costs you 1 Stress point per point gained.
Apprentice costs you 2 Stress points for point gained.
Explore the "books" on the map only enough to find the castle, forest, beach and caves to Rest in.
They just don't provide enough benefit. You are better off spending a week raiding dungeons or working a trade.
CRAFTING ITEMS
The best chance you have of creating an item is 50% and ditto for enchanting it.
That gives a 25% chance of creating a maxed out item.
On average it will take $8,000 and four tries to craft an item.
About 1 out of 3 times that you study, you'll get an opportunity to craft an item.
So it will take you 12 tries on average to craft an item with all skills maxed out. That's eight weeks.
I finally crafted some enchanted items!
They are much better than anything I have found. Most of my looted items end up sold the to store and now I have 20k on hand because there's nothing to spend it on.
If you are using healing potions to survive routine combats - you are in a dungeon that is too hard for you.
Dungeons appear based on your bravery level. Notice which ones appear first. Those are the easiest to tackle. If you take on dungeons in the order they appear, you should do well.
Save crafting and enchanting items (Librarian, Apprentice, Smithing Studies and Stitching School) for after your character is 19.
It takes a lot of tedious effort and money to craft an item. Better to clean out dungeons, amass a load of loot and then study crafting.
