Trying too hard to be artsy, and getting way too much leeway because of it. I "get" its suppose to be statement/message but, its missing out on the "fun" department. 2/5.
Examples of other games in this genre that are successful in being fun due to good game mechanics: Burn the rope, I wish I were the moon, Areas, Today I die night raveler, and the heartbroken uruguayans. Good effort, a success by commercial standards, but game mechanics could be improved and is under-criticized.
