I like shooters, but I really don't like having to start over each level. The graphics were nice, the power ups cool, and the screens varied. I just couldn't get past starting with the worst shot each level when the enemies were getting tougher. I disliked it even more when you limited the player to 3 upgrades at a time. Should be a 5/5 but the gameplay just left me feeling it was more a 3/5. I didn't mind the mouse control or yellow bullets. The yellow was part of the challenge. Also make the bosses shots harder to dodge or make the special a one time use with the bosses.
Control is terrible. I really wanted to like it, but after repeatedly getting blasted or missing items because I couldn't move to the side I had to give up. The control needs to be more responsive and the language selection should happen right at the start.
I enjoyed the game, but the 3 characters really need to be balanced better. I found myself wishing I could just have 3 mages. The same complaints as everyone else. The mage levels up so much better than the other two that at the end I was loading up the other ones with helpers and the mage was battling with just a priest to help. The levels also tended to drag on. Would have been better if the level ups took longer but you kept them between levels. Then you could have had each level start harder and be shorter. 4/5 overall.
So I sail around trapped in a circle wondering why there all these comments about things to do. Eventually I die and leave the game. Today I come back and try it again. Sail around for awhile trapped in a circle killing things till I die. Thinking I must really be stupid not to understand what I'm doing wrong. So I decide I will continue and try one more time to see if I can get out of the circle, but instead of being trapped in a circle I suddenly start at an island with things to do. AS exciting a discovery as that might be, I'm now annoyed I wasted a bunch of time sailing in circles for no reason at all. 1/5 for the dumbest way to start a game I've ever seen. I can't rate on anything else since I'm annoyed and have decided to just go play my old pirates game instead.
Seems like I have the same complaint about all these unity games. The mouse movement is to large. When I turn, the mouse often moves off the edge of the screen. Make the turning more responsive, so that I never move outside the center of the screen.
Not a bad version of Quix, but when you cut a ball off from the rest it should be destroyed. It felt wrong everytime I cut one off just to get a line in the middle of the screen. Interesting ow the balls made parts of your areas dissapear. 3/5
It's ok, but I suspect you won't be allowed to program a vegas slot machine. I was up to 15000 in a very short period of time. Reduce the wins and add more lines to play. 3/5
Gets boring really fast. Aslo why do I need to hold the mouse button down. I need to shoot continously and there is no penalty for it, so just autofire and save my finger. Seriously needs more. Upgrades, variety of enemies, different weapons and some reason to shoot in a direction other than straight ahead. As it is 1/5 since it's not really a game yet.
Not bad. I found that the cruisers were just to powerfull. I locked all the shields so my ships wouldn't stay in them and the game became much easier. Upgrades were ok, but with the enemy getting the better ships earlier, they didn't seem to help. Not overly challenging, but I did have to play a couple levels over so 4/5.
Way to much lag. The game was unresponsive at points. Also the window is way to small. If you are keeping it small to improve performance, it isn't working and makes the game even more unplayable. I never got past the first few screens and can't say I'll bother to try with the game as it is.
Way to easy to beat the computer. Wait for it to attack a building and send your troops to the same building. Then use both buildings to attack the computers first building. Level 20 was done in less than a minute. You need to increase the challenge of the later levels. Since the computer isn't likely to outthink us, then it needs more and stronger troops. 2/5 since it was to easy to beat.
I'm really not sure why you needed to change the turn left/right from the standard use of the keys. Might be an ok game, but having the mouse turn you is hard for me to adjust to. Especially since I constantly have to pick up my mouse and move it back to keep turning in the same direction. Also, I think adding strafing engines right at the start would have been good. Give people a chance to get a feel for all the controls before moving into later battles.
The difficulty ramps up way to fast. The second level is so frustrating that I almost didn't continue. More help at the begining would be nice until you get a feel for the game. Also level 5 was nearly impossible since the cars piled up before I could get the second car removed. Overall more frustrating than fun. 2/5
Not bad. A couple things that could be changed. Bombs should explode after a certain amount of time. Just release more if you want to keep lots on the screen, but the explosions would be good to distract and liven up the game. Also bombs shouldn't walk thru each other. Kind of ruins the feel to see them passing thru each other instead of bouncing off. Finally it could use more levels and things not to fick up. Maybe drop forks and have obstacles like rusted posts. Something to give variety to the game. Good start. 3/5
Controls do nothing. I can't turn or move around. The asteroids come, I die. Arrow keys and wasd are the same. The up arrow creates a flame, I sit there watching the asteroids coming and then death. 1/5 since it doesn't actually work.
Really was enjoying the game. Decided to quite for the night yesterday, came back today and couldn't continue. That's a pretty big flaw in a game like this. Wanted to give it a 5/5, but 3/5 since I can't continue.
Really enjoyed playing the game. It does get stale though once you figure out how to optimize the income per turn and still beat the computers units. It would be good if it had a campaign that you bought and upgraded the units. It might also be fun in the skirmish mode if the units you got were randomized so you didn't always have the same units as the computer. Say get 2 of the first 3 unit types, 2 of the next 3 and so on. You could also vary the terrain across the map to benefit different units. Finally, needs more types of ranged units, or secondary throwing weapons on some of the units for when they all pile up behind each other. Lots of potential in the game, but needs some variations to make it replayable. 4/5
