Easily got past 600, 650 even, using tiri23's build.
Also, going with that build, first doing the full fire tree and then going to the holy tree, you can actually beat the boss at level 9-ish. You definitely need max level to easily get 600 points in survival mode, though.
"Deep card mechanics" with nothing new to the card game scene, "battles resolve as quickly as you wish to view them" as long as you are *very* patient because those 1 minute games will become annoying when you're doing 50 in a row, "for fans of MTG, Duelyst and Hearthstone" we will tell you: this is nothing like those games, "no deck building limits" except that we give you a maximum amount of cards for your deck, "epic battles in under a minute" at least 20% of the time!, "immersive campaign" with a not much more than decent story and with races that are copy-pasted from other fantasy games, "fans of hearthstone will love the engaging story and visual experience" except hearthstone gets this amount of story without trying as hard and has a better visual experience. The description is full of false advertisement, it seems!
There are three ways I can think of that the game could implement more strategy and most importantly remove a lot of the randomness in winning. One way, that would still allow for the "fast paced" battles, is to let us arrange the order of our deck, so we have complete control over when we draw what cards. This allows you to carefully plan out the order in which your cards come to play, and the CD mechanic really complements this. If this gets implemented, the next two should not. Those being: allowing us to choose when we play our cards, the CD only functioning as "minimum wait time", which would allow players to strategically hold back cards and already control the order their cards come into play a bit, which brings me to the last one, which can be combined with the previous one, which is allowing us to choose where we position a card when it enters the field.
Though there is skill in the gameplay, contrary to what some people here suggest, since the deckbuilding is part of the gameplay, the game highly overestimates itself by saying the "strategic options" are "unparalleled in other CCGs and TCGs". Yeah, sure, there are more deckbuilding options. But strategy here is only limited to that, while most other CCGs and TCGs also require strategical thinking during battles. I don't think it's a bad thing that this game doesn't have that, but it definitely limits the strategic options in comparison to other TCGs and CCGs. In fact, I'd argue this has even less strategic options than Hearthstone, with which the game explicitly compares itself, for that very reason. Not to mention CCGs like Faeria where every decision counts.
Why is everybody complaining about "guesswork" for deduction? It's pretty obvious imo if you consider the hints you're being given in conversations and such. Also, pretty weird, I got the badge whithout reaching the best ending...
Why is everyone complaining about the RNG? I mean yes, it makes it difficult, but that's the point. The odds of ending up in a truly impossible situation are incredibly slim, it just takes lots of practice and insight in the mechanics of each level. Strategy is really important for almost every single level. This game, though difficult, is very well-made. I rated it 5/5 and favorited it first time I played it, and still wouldn't consider changing that for a second.
For everyone complaining that the jumping is "flawed"; it isn't. Sure, it's different from most platformers, since you don't get to control your movement mid-air. But taking that ability away only makes it more challenging. You now have limited options, deal with it. It's not as if InterDimensional Dave's life is a walk in the park. Besides, if you just accept that you have to obey the laws of physics and try to get used to it, you'll actually notice that it is still perfectly possible to control Dave perfectly fine. If you don't like games that don't do everything to make it easy for you, that's fine. But don't bash on this game for just that. It's simple, yes, but the mechanics work and the story and atmosphere are conveyed very well. 4/5 at least.
Thanks for playing. I am glad you enjoyed it. :D
