@gagaking There are 3 upgrades for each building. You can choose to do only the first 2 upgrades instead of all 3. Each upgrade costs money, so you buy them 1 at a time.
I really like how easy it is to equip and compare stuff when you buy armour and weapons.
I just started playing another RPG and I'm at a shop and I'm thinking, wait, how can I buy stuff? ... I don't even know what I'm wearing! lol
HANDY STATEGIES:
CYCLIC GENERATOR: 3 or more microbes feed into each other in a cycle.
ANT RACE: Spam 1 microbe to create an All-Powerful ANT by cutting tentacles into it as fast as you can.
FRONT LINE POWER: Stengthen your front-line by moving power across multiple microbes, by quickly cutting tentacles from one microbe to the next and so on.
SLING SHOT: Cut a long tentacle to take over a distant microbe faster. Simple but easily forgotten.

Nightmare isn't about luck:
First move: take the soldier off-duty at the police station and train the 2 unskilled people there, so that they become soldiers. Now you have 3 soldiers to use on your first move.
Use your solders to kill zombies, you need to get a hospital, suburb, appartment, trailer park or farm first.
Use your leader to try to recruit survivors from a different nearby square.
Use a scavenger to get some food from another nearby square.
Use your left-over people to scout or build regardless of their skill.
Tips: Make sure you get a hospital that isn't at risk of being taken over, you'll pretty much lose a survivor each day you don't have a hospital. Move to the top of the map, that's where most of the farms are. Always use a leader to recurit surviviors before reclaiming any area.
